Creative Exploration Final Design Board-2
Beit El-Qadi
Historical Background
Beit El Qadi dates back to the 16th century
and served as a residence for high-ranking
officials. Its design reflects the grandeur of
the Mamluk era.
Al Moez Street, lined with historic buildings,
traces its origins back to the Fatimid period,
around the 10th century. It has witnessed the
rise and fall of various dynasties. By walking
through the street, one can witness the
evolution of Islamic architecture.
Design Challenge
El moez street is rich with a history of Islamic
features. In this interpretation center, the
goal is to portray the evolution and historical
significance of El Moez. Each period has its
significance. This design aims to incorporate
this significance harmoniously while
highlighting the unique characteristics of Sketch of Beit El Qadi
period.
Concept Statement
El Moez Street witnessed many layers
of history. This layering is the source of
inspiration behind this design.
The concept is to create a walk through
history where one experiences each layer like
a timeline.
