GRAMMAR: Present Perfect

Use:

1) Talking about experiences in your life.

Read this conversation: What are these friends

Anna: Have you ever seen a graffiti exhibition by


Banksy?

Brian: No, I have never seen his work. What about


you?

Anna: Yes, I have.

Brian: Really? When did you see it?

Anna: I saw it in 2009.

Brian: And where did you see it?

Anna: In Bristol, when I went there on holiday.

Brian: Did you like it?

Anna: Yes, I did. It was very interesting.

Think about it and answer:

Which questions are about the past? What verb tense are they? Does this tense refer to a finished
or unfinished period of time?

What about the first question? Is it about…

b) the present?
c) the past + the present?

What tense is the first question?

Form:

I have seen some videos with Banksy’s graffiti. Have you seen a graffiti by this graffiti artist?

Anna has seen Banksy’s exhibition.
