 OUTLINE:

THESIS STATEMENT:

I agree with using genetic testing to make medical decisions because they
can be very useful in determining whether a person has a genetic disease
and determining the severity of the disease.

THE BODY (2+ PARAGRAPHS).

PARAGRAPH #1
- Supporting Ideas:

● These tests are very useful when a person has a family history
of a particular disease.
● Identify changes in genes that could increase the risk of
contracting a disease so that doctors can give specific
treatments depending on the disease.
● Determining whether you have an increased risk of
developing a specific disease is an advantage of detecting
inherited diseases.

PARAGRAPH #2
- Supporting Ideas:
● By detecting the disease early, doctors can provide better
treatment, especially for the disease the person is suffering
from.
● Genetic testing can be very helpful in determining whether
you are likely to get a disease in the future and how serious it
may be.
● One of the benefits is that most people could be saved or
have immediate medical attention to prevent diseases that
can lead to death.

THE CONCLUSION (1 paragraph):

For all of the above, genetic tests would be of great help in making
medical decisions to prevent many deaths and detect diseases in time and
determine the severity of the disease.

 WRITING:

The advantages of genetic testing

Genetic testing is very good and has many advantages for making medical
decisions because it can be very useful in determining if a person has a
genetic disease and determining the severity of the disease. It is worth
mentioning to have a little knowledge that in the genetic test a person's
tissue or blood is analyzed to determine if there is any modification in
their genetic map.

Currently it is very important and has many benefits because medicine has
advanced a lot and has contributed many things, in addition to genetic
testing having many advantages for people. These tests are very useful
when a person has a family history of a particular disease, because this
way they can take action on the matter, being informed about your health
you can turn to doctors to help you. Another advantage that genetic
testing can have is identifying changes in genes that could increase the risk
of contracting a disease so that doctors can give specific treatments
depending on the disease. There are also many people who do not give
much importance to the matter but it must be because they are not well
informed, therefore, determining if you have a higher risk of developing a
specific disease is another of the advantages of detecting hereditary
diseases.
By detecting the disease in time, doctors can provide better treatment,
especially for the disease that the person suffers from, with this we could
help so that many people receive adequate care in medical centers. They
can also be very useful in determining whether you are likely to get an
illness in the future and how serious it may be. Currently, there is a certain
percentage of people who care about their health and go for check-ups
from time to time, but not everyone has access to it. To finish, one of the
perhaps most notable benefits is that most people could be saved or have
immediate medical attention to prevent diseases that can cause death.

In conclusion, genetic testing would be of great help in making medical

decisions to prevent many deaths and detect diseases in time and
determine the severity of the disease. The information obtained in this
type of tests, as already mentioned, can be used to diagnose a genetic
disease, initiate treatment or take preventive measures, and also help in
decisions such as selecting the type of career or family planning.

 FINAL ASSIGNMENT:
- Go to page 31 and read the alternative writing topic, then write a
paragraph giving your opinión about the issue.

Daniel Levitin states something that he has surely been able to do, that is
why based on his experience he affirms that a person needs 10,000 hours
of practice to achieve a truly world-class experience. Therefore, it is
important to know that not all of us have the same abilities or skills; there
are many people who are good at something but not at others. It is also a
question of dedication and how much effort you put into the things you
want to do, but there are also people who can dedicate themselves to
many things. I think that's why some people say they are "savant." We are
all good at something, but we are not all good at the same thing.

 REFLECTION PAPER:

At this level of English I have done well but I think I should continue
practicing, English is a language that must be practiced so that you do not
forget that I have it in mind. Reading comprehension is something that I
have always had complications with but I know that with practice I will
improve a lot, this month I have improved in very important things such
as: in the formation of a paragraph, what parts it has and what supporting
ideas there are. very important for your text to be coherent. My
experience in this course has been satisfactory, one always gets the best
out of something is what I think. Apart from that, the teacher has been
very patient with all the students because the teacher has to somehow
reach the students so that they can participate and not everyone wants
to, but Mr. Cuya personally knew how to reach all the students.
