These are the conclusions I have drawn from the trainee's responses to the "stages of change

questionnaire." I learned from Ms. Mj during our interview that she had been exercising regularly for the
previous six months but had stopped either this month or over the summer. Overall, my trainee has not
yet engaged in any physical activity but has a plan to do so. However, she has previously worked out for
the past six months, which has given her knowledge of the advantages of exercise, how to rotate
exercises, and how to stay active, all of which she has not done. Therefore, she is still in the
contemplation stage, which means she needs more encouragement to start exercising again. And as for
myself, I'll pay closer attention to what my trainee necessitate because it's crucial that retention,
motivation, and engagement all go hand in hand. Healthy communication will support engagement, which
will then boost motivation, retention, and ultimately inspire my trainee to move on to the next phase of
change.

Trainee Joe Mae Piscos’ stated "Exercising is not only for one but for a 2-in-1."
An activity needs two people to be more entertaining. Many people have that imprinted in their
thoughts. The remark is only accurate, though, since working out seems more enjoyable and motivating
when there is someone there to support and assist you. We don't have many opportunities to remove our
thoughts from everyday responsibilities and employment.
Therefore, we must be sure to appreciate the time that is still available for physical exercise. Once
you can stick to a regimen, exercising really does make you healthier. With a friend or relative, the
aforementioned objective can also be accomplished. The goal of exercise goes beyond achieving physical
wellness. Another goal can be to strengthen relationships or spend more time with friends and family. In
this manner, a bond between the trainee and a trainer can develop.

My Reflection of Mentoring, Coaching and Collaboration: As I reflect on the past seven weeks of
learning I must confess that this has been the most interesting learning experience for me. It has impacted
my practice at work on a daily basis and has engaged me in learning like no other course. It is authentic
learning for me because it is practical and useful. I am able to practice what I learn immediately and I
have peers that are interested in. Sometimes, Schedules are not aligned and that the trainee is sick or she
is busy with her class. I admit I wasn’t as hands on with my trainee but I understood the most and enjoyed
this journey with her.
“The ability to reflect on one's actions so as to. engage in a process of continuous learning.”
(Schön, 1983) Reflection is really just learning to coach from and through experience!
