Chapter 1: Introduction
It was a sunny Sunday morning when I was
sitting on the porch while drinking a cup of
coffee when I suddenly heard my brother
scream his lungs out my name. I ran as the
speed of light to my brother’s bedroom to find
him telling me to put on his socks to get ready
for school. I laughed and I put on his socks for
him. He said in a haste “Thanks sis “and ran to
the bus who was waiting for him for 10 minutes
already. As I was already in college, I had to go
late as my classes start at 11:00 AM sharp. As I
got ready. I got a phone call from my dad who
had a night shift at his company to assess some
so – called reports to his employees. He told he
was coming home and going to spend the day at
home. I was happy but the only problem I had
was Dad was always so busy to watch “Old is
Gold “movies when he comes back. So, I told
my dad to come home only on one condition
that is not to watch movies at all and spend time
with us. At first, he was reluctant but he agreed.
I was happy. I cut the call and started to get
ready for college as I did not want detention
again. (Trust me, detention is the worst thing in
my college) I rushed to my bicycle but I bumped
into the Mean Girls. Vanessa was my worst
enemy. She would always pull out all her mean
pranks on me and it is very annoying. I shoved
past her and rode my cycle to my college. I
rushed to my class and sat down on my bench
next to my best friend Brianna. Our first class
was Economics (A.K. A my favorite subject).
Our professor Miss Belle was a sweet but shy
teacher. After classes were done it was soon
lunch break. I was saved because I did not want
to eaten the lunch lady’s mashed potato puree. I
made a bacon sandwich a bought a mango juice
from the grocery store near my house. I was
sitting silently on my seat eating my sandwich
when a girl came up to me saying that is her
seat. When I got up to tell her that it was my
seat, it was none other than Vanessa. Literally
she looks like a chimpanzee wearing a mini
skirt with makeup like a gorilla’s face. So, I did
not mind her and moved somewhere else like a
quiet, solitary place for me to eat in peace. Then
after all the classes were finished, it was already
7:30 pm. I rode my cycle fast as I can and I saw
my sneaky dad breaking the condition I told in
his call in the morning. He was watching
movies. I switched off the tv and made dinner
for my dad and my brother who is playing video
games. We all ate dinner and I allowed my
father to watch movies for 2 hours and we all
went to sleep.
