II. Description
The well-known ‘alimango’, or crab restaurant can be found on Arellano Street in
Dagupan City. It opened as a seafood restaurant in 1981 and has two floors: a fine
dining restaurant on the first floor and a disco hall on the second. It had a very
unique architectural design patterned after a crab. It used to be the priciest fine
dining establishment, with only the wealthiest guests able to purchase any of the
menu items. The Crab Resto Building has become a well-known landmark and
dining attraction in Dagupan because to its distinctive appearance and delectable
offers.
III. Problems
 This abandoned restaurant may have negative histories or stigma from their past
operations, which can influence public perception and brand reputation.
 For it has been abandoned for over 30 years, there is much larger threat. The
building may suffer from structural deterioration caused by neglect or water
damage, as well as a possibility of the structure's vulnerability.
 The restoration of an abandoned restaurant demands careful consideration of
structural and environmental problems, legal compliance, financial limits, and
involvement in the community.
IV. Research Question
 What were the main factors behind the restaurant's closure and eventually
abandonment?
 What part could the renovated restaurant play in improving the neighborhood or

V. Solution
 Restoring an abandoned restaurant require flexibility and agility in order to
remain relevant and responsive to changing market trends.

 Design a useful and efficient layout that makes the best use of space while
maintaining the building's architectural identity.
 The reconstruction of this abandoned restaurant has the ability to impact towns
