A. Read the passage given below and answer questions 1 to 4

The king went up to the hermit and said, ‘I have come to you, wise hermit, with three
questions…………………………………and bandaged it with his handkerchief and with a
towel the hermit had. (Pg 18,19)
1. Why did the king go to see the hermit? What did he ask for?
2. What did the king ask the hermit to hand over to him? Why? What do we understand
about the king from this?
3. ‘I came to you, wise man, for an answer to my questions. If you can give me none, tell
me so and I will return home.’
Mention any two personal qualities of the king that you can infer from the above
sentence and describe your reasons for the same.
4. What happened to the man from the forest? What did the king do for him?
