Fruit Scones

Makes 6

Ingredients
225g self raising flour
50g HARD margarine or butter
150ml milk + 2 tbsp milk
50g sultanas
30g sugar

Method

1. Turn oven onto 200ºC / Gas mark 6. Lightly grease a baking tray.

2. Sieve flour into a bowl.

3. Rub margarine into flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.

4. Stir in sugar and sultanas

5. Add the 150ml milk gradually and mix to a soft dough using a

round bladed knife.

6. On a lightly floured surface, pat out to about 2cm. Cut into rounds

using a biscuit cutter.

7. Transfer on the baking tray. Brush tops with milk.

8. Bake for 7 – 10 minutes until well risen and golden brown.

9. Remove from oven and places scones on a wire cooling rack.
