Christmas Decoration

Materials and Tools
 Yarn: 1 or more color of yarn. I use Catania cotton yarn in beige, green, red, brown
and white colors.
Change of colors are only advices, you can choose your own color patterns.
 Crochet hook: 2,0 mm and 1 mm
 Stuffing material: I use polyester wool and a chopstick to stuff the doll.
 Tapestry needle, scissors.
•Plastic safety eyes (Do not forget to place them before finishing the head).
•Two black beans (for Santa)
Black, red and brown embroidery threads.
Abbreviations
mr = Magic ring
ch = Chain
st = Stitch
slst = Slip 1 stitch
sc = Single crochet
dc = Double crochet
tr=Treble crochet
() = Parentheses are used for repeated patterns of stitches, example: (sc 2, inc) x3
means repeat 3 times (2 simple crochet and one increase).
inc = 2 sc in the same stitch
inc dc = 2 dc in the same stitch
dec = sc 2 together but working in the front loops only

Crochet 13 sc to be on the corner.
Cut the yarn leaving a long tail (40 cm) to sew.
Attach the eyes between rounds 21 and 22 with 6-7 stitches apart (fig 10).
Stuff the body lightly.

How to finish:
Using the long tail of white yarn, start from second loop. Sew the opening through the front
loops by going across each stitches (fig 11, 12 and 13).

Embroider the eyelashes, eyebrows, nose and mouth and decorate with white small
snowflakes.

Attach the eyes between rounds 9 and 10 with 14 stitches apart(fig 7).

Stuff the head firmly, especially bottom part. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.
Crochet 1 sc to be on the corner. Then use the needle, close the hole in the same way like a tree
(fig 10, 11 and 12).

HAT
Use the 2,0 mm hook. Hat is crocheted in spiral.

Binding:
Insert the hook in first front loop of round 30 (fig 19). Pull up the white yarn through and make 1
chain (fig 20), insert the hook again in the same loop and crochet 1 sl st (fig 21). Crochet 1 chain
and 1 slip stitch in each front loop.
Make the second binding in green color for round 29.

Cut the yarn and leave a tail for sewing to head. Place the face under the eyes and sew it using
only bar (fig 11).

NOSE
Use the 2,0 mm hook.

Binding:
Lay your body at the backside facing you. Find the front loops of round 15. Insert the hook in
first front loop. Pull up the yarn through (fig 11) and make 1 chain, insert the hook again in the
same loop and crochet 1 sl st. Make this combination in each next front loop.

Use the 2,0 mm hook.

Cut the yarn and leave a tail.

BEARD
Lay the face at the back side facing you (fig 14). Attach the white yarn in back loop of stitch 11
(fig 15). Crochet 8 chains (fig 16). Starting on the 2nd ch from the hook, sc all the way back with a
total of 7 sc. Make a slip stich in the next stitch and crochet 10 sc.
I made 16 pieces of beard using the amount of 11 to 6 chains. (fig 19).

Turn your face with beard at front side.

NOSE
Use the 1 mm hook and yarn for that size hook.

Cut the yarn and keep same length.
Sew the nose to the face and embroider the mouth (fig 20).
For eyes I use two black beads 4 mm size (fig 21).
And last, sew the face to the body using the back loops.
