Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow in full sentences.

Shopping is a perfect activity that one can use to bond with one's family. You get to know them better;
their likes, dislikes, and shopping habits. Talking about shopping habits, how you do your shopping tells
a lot about you. Are you a person who shops until you spend every coin in your pocket? Compulsive
buying disorder or oniomania is a common disorder that most Ugandans may not be aware of. It is a
condition where a person is characterised by obsessive shopping and buying. Such a person cannot
control his or her urge to shop. This condition can be treated with therapy from trained personnels.
Parents should observe their children while shopping so that they are able to detect any disorder.

If you have shopped from a supermarket before, you might have come across a mother dragged around
a supermarket by a crying child who does not want to take 'no' for an answer.

"Mum! I want another chocolate and a sweet!" The child commands.

"No! My dear,you have already bought two sweets," says the mother. The angry child starts crying and
the mother later gives in and buys what the child wants.

This is bad nurturing and a dangerous way of shopping. Children have to learn how to shop on budget. If
they do not learn to budget for all their shopping, then poverty is an enemy they are opening doors for.

Dear Martha,

I hope you are doing well these days in Nairobi and that your parents and the rest of the
family are all well. It is along time now since you left mbale and we all miss you! I hope you have made
some new friends and that you are getting on well at school.

Things are OK here. Secondary school is good fun, but hard work.We do lots of sports and
subjects that we didn't do in primary school. I like English and maths and the other subjects are
interesting but I find some Of them really difficult. We have lots of homework, too. I now have a special
table in my bedroom which is for my homework. My sister is not allowed to touch it!

Anyway, I am writing because my cousin, Betty is coming to Nairobi. I don't think you know her
she is my aunt Helen's daughter, they live a long way from mbale. Actually, they are moving to Nairobi
and by chance Betty is going to start at your school of course, I don't know what class she will be in but
please can you look out for her? Betty is medium height and a bit fat. She has got plaints and she is
always smiling. She is very friendly, but she may be nervous. I think she will be pleased to see a friendly
Ugandan face!My family are all fine. My oldest brother has started work in a local factory. My
grandmother is staying with us because my uncle and his family have gone to South Africa for a few
weeks. I hope they bring me back something nice!

Will we see you back in Mbale for a visit one day? Please try and come.
