Pebble, Pebble, Boulder

Throw a pebble in a body of water and see how it slowly sinks as it joins the
other rocks settling down on each other. Pebbles are small, rough, and light, which
makes them easy to throw and control. As per its bigger counterparts, like boulders, not
so much. Like rocks, humans are also easier to control when they’re smaller and less
powerful, but once a human has an ego the size of a boulder, that’s when trouble
comes.

Small and insignificant things are easier to take control of; however, when these
insignificant things bond together, they’re a lot stronger than one may think. An example
of these are the pebbles mentioned; these pebbles, once stuck together, create strong
foundations for whatever the mind desires. The same goes for humans, especially
students, who are looked down upon by the many as they are seen as insignificant, but
students are a lot stronger when bonded by the same goal and future.

Students in today’s world are called spoiled for having access to different
resources that adults didn’t have in the past. They are seen as little know-it-alls with
sharp tongues for expressing concerns and ideas that differ from the elderly.

One thing about a lot of students is that they are in an environment that contains
adults who are splurging information in their faces. Though some of this information is
going to be useful once a student graduates, there are also times when these so-called
‘teachers’ are only present to talk about their lives and how miserable they are.

Pebbles, for the most part, are rough when found out in the open, mostly on the
ground, just like students. When students are left to study on their own while some of
their teachers give them insufficient information about a topic, they are going to develop
rough edges about that certain subject. This will drive them away from ever studying
that lesson, especially if it doesn’t cater to their interest. The point is that students go to
school to learn, but countless students report teachers that have the aforementioned
qualities.

Though rough edges are inherently essential when dealing with the real world,
students still need guidance in order for them to move forward in their lives. Children
step into a classroom in their primary years with the expectation that school will bring
them forward for the better. But when the education system lacks the effort to even
guide the students into learning, that’s where it all goes downhill.
The idea of moving forward in life is to be able to find a stable job and source of
income. Well, that’s what people are accustomed to, as stable jobs provide a stream of
income that’ll serve as a key to opening the doors to different essentials and luxuries in
life.
Reeling back to the students, students are expected to find get jobs in the future
that’ll make them filthy rich. But when they’ve developed rough and harsh edges and
surfaces, the idea is to finish school with decent grades and find a job that’s easy to get
into. The education system has messed up the students’ will to move forward in life
when their goal is the opposite, which showcases how it needs to be fixed.

The students in today’s world are important, especially with how they are
essentially smarter than the ones before them. Before anyone widens their eyes and
has them fall out, the younger generation has now made it part of their everyday lives to
be able to handle modern devices and technology as a whole and puts them to their
advantage, including learning.

As pebbles do, they are found everywhere in the world such as students. They
are found in different shapes and sizes, and though some look the same, no one will be
the exact match of the other. The importance of each student’s uniqueness is that they
bring different characteristics to the table.

When students find their potential, they are able to build an identity for
themselves with the use of modern technology and their peers. Although most students
are frowned upon for being too young to have an identity and let the world benefit from
it, they are still able to do it.

The thing about students is that they are more than what they are in school. They
also provide a foundation for the future workers of the world. With how the current
education system is treating their found talents and identities, it’s likely that students will
stir away from the typical jobs like teachers, doctors, engineers, and more unless it’s
their most practical bet.

Practicality is what most students turn to when thinking about their future careers
because what they are good at and passionate about are things that’ll unlikely provide
them a spot in the saturated industry. The education system has failed into uplifting
students into becoming proficient adults and only made students who are unwilling to
move forward.
The case being this; the education system needs to fix itself in order to
provide students the proper education that they need to find themselves a spot in a
world full of people who have the same capabilities as them. Like pebbles that have
similar attributes, but differ in internal characteristics; students may all be students, but
their capabilities and internal strengths differ from one another.

In order to be fixed, world-class education should be available to anyone, just like

pebbles are. It should be accessible and easy to find, unlike boulders which are
intimidating and are only found in far-off places. As world-class education produces
students that will be essential to the future of the industry moving forward, let it be
known and be seen as pebbles everywhere.
