TYPES OF SWITCH

Single Pole, Single


Throw Switch
(SPST)
 the very common switch.
its function is simply for
turning on and off a certain
load in a circuit.
Single Pole, Double Throw
(SPDT) or Three-
Way Switch (S3W)
used to control
loads in two locations.
used to control loads in
more than two locations
when combined with 4-way
switch.
it has a common terminal
which supplies the two
traveler terminals
alternately.
Double Pole, Double
Throw Switch (DPDT) or
4-Way Switch
has four terminals
in which having contacts
alternately.
Toggle Switch
 a type of SPST
which the actuator is
longer than the ordinary
switch.
Feed Through Switch
switch button is
being slide when
turned on or off.
Pull- Chain Switch
 Can be turned on
and off by pulling a
hanging chain.
Dimmer Switch
Used to control
the brightness of
the bulb.
Photo Control Switch
Automatically turns
on the light when it
can sense darkness
and turns it off when it is a
daylight.
Push Button Switch
It has either normally-
closed or normally-open
contact.
Automatically returns to its
normal position when the
applied force is being
released.
Selector Switch
Allows the user to
choose between
neutral or off,
manual or forward, and
automatic or reverse.
Emergency Stop Button
automatically locks when
pushed and has
to be twisted to
release the lock.

Limit Switch

close and open contact
which will be
triggered
when touched
or pressed.
