Answer the following questions:
1. Explain relation of poverty in an agriculture-based development.
Agricultural development is a powerful tool for alleviating poverty in developing
countries. According to an OECD study, quick and long-term progress in
reducing extreme poverty is nearly impossible unless agricultural output rises and
poor farmers' earnings rise.
It claims that agricultural growth can significantly reduce poverty, both to
demand linkages and the fact that agriculture and allied activities are more labor-
intensive and import-intensive than manufacturing activities.
2. In your community or nearby barangay with agriculture as major means to source
income, enumerate the roles of women in the agricultural production.
As I have observed from other barangays, especially on higher lands, women sell
harvested fruits and vegetables every morning. But they don't just sell those, they
have planted crops, fruits and vegetables themselves to make a living. The
following ate what women most likely doing as part or the agricultural sector.
 They help their husbands or family clean their farm.

 They prepare foods for their farmers.

 They help in planting crops, fruits and vegetables.

 They help in harvesting, winnowing and storing their yields.

 And do the selling to earn money.

In addition to that, women in our barangay have piggery and small poultry, and they
solely manage their livestock. It is because their husbands are working everyday
away from home. Most of the time, they do the following.
 Cleaning the animals and their shelter

 Feeding the animals

 And do the negotiation to buyers.
