1. Why do the pyramids such a great achievement for the ancient Egyptians?
• The pyramids serve as great achievement for the ancient Egyptians since
it shows their great civilization and how organized their society back then
even the tools and equipment are limited. Ten thousand average
Egyptians were conscripted and they are willing to build the pyramids for a
long period of time that almost reaching less than 30 years. According to
the video that I’ve watch, one block has the average of three minutes
however, Pyramid of Khufu had two million blocks. Pyramids are great
achievement for the Egyptians since it shows good craftsmanship, hard
work, architecture, cooperation, and perseverance of the ancient
Egyptians.
2. Why do historians think the Pharaoh got the biggest tomb?
• The pharaoh had the biggest tomb since almost of the ancient Egyptians
believe that the pyramid serves as the way for the pharaoh to go in the
afterlife. They believe that when a pharaoh went in the afterlife, they
became a god and will also help them to go in the afterlife too. The
pharaohs are in the top of the society and many Egyptians respect them in
ancient times that’s why average Egyptians believe that it would really
help them to go in afterlife.
3. How was the ancient Egyptian social structure important for building the
pyramids?
• The pharaohs are in the top of the society in the ancient times. Beneath
them are the priest, the military leaders, and other people worked directly
for him. Egypt was a very stable society that their government are strong
and can support most of the people. Almost all Egyptians respected the
pharaoh and the priest, and shared the same religion. Average Egyptians
felt that their leaders kept them safe from attack and provided a fair
government that’s why majority of the people trusted their leaders, they
agreed to build the pyramids for the pharaoh. They believed the priests
who said that the pyramids would get the pharaoh to the afterlife. They
also believe that the pharaoh would then take care of the when he
became a god.
