REFLECTIVE ESSAY

A nurse's leadership is determined by her deeds, not usually by her position of

power. Nurse leaders encourage and motivate people to realize their full potential. By using
their critical thinking abilities to lead a team, nurses employ applied leadership. According to
great man theory, leaders are born and not made. So, Nurse leaders consider the big picture
and how everyday responsibilities affect the overarching objectives of the healthcare
business. They inspire their group to meet specified objectives by clearly communicating
expectations to them. If nurses exhibit the required leadership traits to influence others,
they can lead from a variety of organizational areas.

Patient outcomes, quality of care, nurse retention rates, and work happiness can all
be impacted by nursing leadership styles. A nurse's leadership style in nursing may be
influenced by their personality, work environment, and educational background. In the
appropriate context, each kind of nurse leader position has potential value.

As a natural leader in the nursing field, my professional ethics would be based on

transformational theory. I would have established a relationship between managers and staff
through this, and it has the potential to improve the organization. I was aware that as a team
leader, I would have the chance to inspire my subordinates to go above and beyond what
they were capable of. In addition, I would inspire my teammates to reach our objectives by
casting a positive vision for them.

Unlike other leaders, I can prioritize inadequate procedures and assemble a team of
workers that collaborate well to accomplish our particular objectives. Additionally, I am able
to prioritize the demands of my organization and team over my own.
