Procedure:

a. Preset: add drawings for Tenuto (quarter notes = boxes touching) and staccato
(quarter notes = boxes with space in between)
b. Warm up
i. Bb Major
1. As a group, slow quarter notes ascending and descending
2. Add Tenuto
a. Press
b. Add a little weight to the front of the note
c. Distinctly not volume
d. Notes should touch (check out drawing as a class)
3. In a round: group 1, 2, or 3
ii. Non-mallet percussionists - listen for tenuto articulation and provide
feedback when asked
c. Play mm 1-9

ii. When not playing: finger or slide along in your part
