How quietly or loudly a piece of music should be played.
Dynamics are an important way of conveying the mood of
a piece and your use of dynamics is a marked element of
your performance.

Levels of Dynamics

Dynamics are traditionally indicated by a range of Italian


terms revolving around the terms piano (“soft”) and forte
(“loud”), indicated in notated music with the letters p and f.
These terms are further refined to include a range of
louder and softer dynamics.

Tempo
Tempo means the speed at which a piece of music should
be played.

The Types of Tempo in Music


Tempo is an important element of music that conveys
emotion. It mostly uses words written in Italian. These
words give singers or musicians an idea of how fast or
slow a song should be sung or played.
