PENGENALAN SILICOSIS
GEJALA SILIKOSIS
01 Most common
10 to 30 years after prolonged exposure to low concentrations
SILIKOSIS DIPERCEPAT
02 5 to 10 years of exposure
Silicoproteinosis + silicotic nodules that intensify more quickly
SILIKOSIS AKUT
03
Within a few weeks to less than 5 years after high-intensity exposure
Silicoproteinosis
Most commonly identified in individuals who have performed abrasive
sandblasting or work in tunnels

MATERIAL YANG MENGANDUNG SILIKA
KRISTAL
Crystalline silica can be found in sand, stone, concrete,
and mortar. It is also used to make products such as
glass, pottery, ceramics, bricks, and artificial stone.

PENYEBAB SILICOSIS
PROSES
Generated in workplace mechanical processes such as crushing,
cutting, drilling, grinding, sawing or polishing of natural stone or
man-made products that contain silica.
PENYEBAB SILICOSIS
PROSES
Another processes include sandblasting, cement manufacturing,
asphalt pavement manufacturing, pottery making and in the
foundry industry. Crystalline silica is used in the electronics
industry and in manufacturing abrasives, paints, soaps, and glass.
The risk is even present in clean-up activities such as sweeping

KASUS SILICOSIS
In 2017, the Global Burden
of Disease (GBD) study
identified 23,695 incident
cases of silicosis, which
represents 39% of the
60,055 incident cases of
pneumoconiosis.
RESIKO SILICOSIS
DI INDUSTRI
KASUS SILICOSIS
Recent outbreaks occurred in Turkey amongst workers sandblasting
denim jeans to give them a "worn-out" look. Sandblasting was done
mostly by young men in unregistered workplaces without any
protection, leading to high exposure to fine silica dust and extremely
high rates of silicosis – and, in many cases, death. These findings led
to a Turkish ban on the process in 2009.
