• It must have been two years ago when I visited an art gallery. To be completely honest, I didn't use
to be very keen on visiting galleries and exhibitions, but one of my friends who is a culture vulture
invited me to go there. Although I thought it would just be a boring visit, it turned out to be far
more interesting than I had expected. The more I explored through the gallery, the more I enjoyed
the pieces of art. One of the paintings caught my eyes. I liked its simplicity, composition and colour
combination. In the foreground we could see a boat near a cost line and in the background we
could see the rising sun. It was just like a photo as the painter did his best to be meticulous about
the details. I was also impressed by how he painted the reflection of the sun in the sea. The contrast
between the colours like blue and orange was also amazing. I got emotionally attached to the
painting. It evoked strong feelings of nostalgia and even loneliness. I wasn't the only one in the
gallery who liked this painting. Almost everybody gave the painter a compliment for that great piece
of art. The painter was an unknown young artist, but I'm sure he will have a promising future and can
carve a niche for himself as a painter.
• To put it in a nutshell, although some people jump to conclusions and think art galleries are tedious,
I believe they can be both educational and entertaining. I hope I'll be able to visit more art galleries
in the future.

• It must have been three years ago when I took a picture of the rising sun. I didn't want to take a
professional photo, but it turned out to be one of the best photos that I have taken. We had gone
on a trip near the coastal areas of the north of Iran. I got up very early in the morning and decided
to walk along the shore. While walking, I came across the mesmerizing view of the sunrise. I decided
to take a picture with my phone. Although my smartphone camera wasn't as good as a professional
DSLR camera, the image quality seemed really good. In the foreground we can see a boat near a
cost line and in the background we can see the rising sun. The reflection of the sun in the sea also
looked amazing. The color contrast as well as the composition of the photo was also professional
although I didn't know the best adjustment of the camera, focus and camera angles. The photo was
so beautiful that almost everybody gave me a compliment about it. They couldn't believe that I took
it just by a simple smartphone. When I arrived home, I printed the photo, had it framed and hung it
on the wall of my bedroom. When I look at this photo, it evokes strong feelings of nostalgia.
• To put it in a nutshell, since then, I've acquired a taste for photography. I hope I'll be able to take
more beautiful photos.

• It must have been three years ago. My family and I were invited to a family party. It was during the
New Year holiday and it's a tradition in Iran to visit your relatives during this time. To be completely
honest, I don't like family gatherings as we always have to talk about some cliches topics and answer
the same questions again and again, but that party was different. At that party, I got familiar with a
distant relative who was a university lecturer. I'd heard about him a lot, but when I talked to him, I
found he was far more interesting than I had expected. The more I talked to him, the more I was
impressed by his down-to-earth and knowledgeable character. The best part of that part was having
a conversation with although other guests were busy talking about some tedious daily news. I did
enjoy his company. Unlike other relatives who usually dominate the conversation, he gave me a
listening ear. I talked about my future plans, and then he shared some of his valuable experiences
with me and tried to point me in the right direction. He also suggested some books and gave me his
phone number to get in contact with him when I wanted. Some people think that the best thing
about a party is having delicious food and drinks or listening to music and dancing, but for me
meeting interesting people is the best thing that can happen.
• To put it in a nutshell, I was so happy that I got to know that person at that party. I hope I'll meet
more people as interesting as him.

• I'm so lucky that my house is near a park. It's just a five-minute walk from my house. I also
sometimes go there by my bicycle. Although it's a small park, it gives us enough space to do some
exercise and enjoy the green space. There is a small playground for children, a fountain in the
middle of the parks, and some seats. Besides, there are sports facilities to do some workouts for free
without having to go to the gym and pay a membership fee. Almost all people in my neighborhood
are satisfied with this park as it's a safe place for family gatherings and can be good for picnics as
well. The gardens in this park are full of colorful flowers which make the park even more beautiful. I
usually go to the park in the morning and in the afternoon to walk and relax. My family and I also go
there on the weekend to have a change of scenery. Moving on to why I like this park. Nowadays, like
many people, I'm snowed under with work and sometimes I need to switch off and unwind. Even a
short visit to this park can put me in a better mood. I would add that doing some exercise in this
park has helped me lose weight and be in better shape. I suppose going to some places like this is a
must, particularly for those who live in cities. Visiting the parks is a simple way to escape from a
sedentary lifestyle and avoid the hustle and bustle of the city.

• I'd like to talk about a time when I was waiting impatiently to receive the result of my university
entrance exam. This exam is absolutely essential in our country. It is believed that if you could gain
admission to a good university, you would have a promising and bright future. It was ten years ago
if my memory serves me right. I had been studying hard, putting all of my efforts and going to great
lengths to do my best to pass the exam with flying colours. The result of the exam was supposed to
be announced two weeks after the exam. I was very stressed out; although I knew I did well in the
exam, I was nervous about the result. I remember I kept refreshing the page of the website to see
the result as soon it appeared on the website. Finally, when I saw my good result, I was over the
moon. My parents were also absolutely ecstatic. I thought that I had given them honour and respect
because of my good result. Although waiting for the result was very hard, the good rank in the exam
made me feel relieved. We decided to throw a party for my achievement.
• To put it in a nutshell, I think it's necessary to work hard and wait for the result. We can't achieve big
goals if we are impatient. I hope I will be patient enough to do my best to pursue my dreams.

• The science I like a lot is astronomy. I vividly remember when I was at primary school, our teacher
showed us some photos of the stars and talked about the Milky Way galaxy. I quickly acquired a
taste for this subject. I asked my parents to buy me some books about stars. Each night, I looked at
the pictures and daydreamed. It was a burning ambition to be an astronaut and travel to the moon
and Mars. Well, to be completely honest, I no longer want to be an astronaut and prefer to put my
feet on the ground, but I'm still interested in astronomy. I've watched some documentaries and
YouTube videos about stars and planets. Besides, I came across some interesting articles about
astronomy. Whenever there is a TV program about stars, I watch it. Knowing about the details of the
universe is not only educational but also entertaining. The fact how tiny we are in front of these
massive stars in the world is both fascinating and frightening. One of my friends who is also very
keen on astronomy also suggested a book and might consider reading it in the future. We also
sometimes talked about what we've learned about stars and shared our ideas. Although many of our
friends find these conversations tedious, we do enjoy talking about them.

• I'd like to talk about a time when I bought a mobile phone online, but I decided to send it back and ask for
a refund. It must have been four years ago. I wanted to buy a brand-new cutting-edge smartphone as my
last phone had become obsolete. Although I could buy it from some shopping centres in my hometown, I
preferred to buy it online. There is a website called Digikala, which is famous for its extensive range of
digital products. Besides, I'd heard a lot about the fast delivery, 24-hour online support, reliable guarantee
and customer service of this website. That's why I was convinced to buy my smartphone online.
• However, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. First of all, I received it a week later although they'd promised
to send it in two days. The package of the phone was badly damaged during the delivery. But the worst
thing was that they sent me the wrong model with a different colour. I was disappointed to be completely
honest. I quickly sent it back and asked for a refund. It took about a week to get my money back. The thing
that annoyed me was I wasted a lot of time. I could have bought a phone from a local shopping mall.
• To put it in a nutshell, it wasn't a satisfactory purchase. I hope the managers of online shopping websites
will come up with some plans to improve their customer satisfaction.

• When I was in high school, we weren't allowed to use our mobile phones. As far as I know, there were
some strict rules in all Iranian schools, and I'd heard other countries had similar rules to limit the use of
mobile phones at school. I'm not sure if the rules nowadays are as strict as in our time, but we would
have faced punishment if our teachers, or principal had realized we had taken our phones to school.
For example, I remember once one of my classmates was asked to bring his parents to school and
write a commitment not to take his phone again to school. There were several reasons for this rule.
Above all else, using phones at school can be distracting. Students' concentration might waver and
their attention might wonder when they are free to use their phone. Perhaps, some students prefer to
mess around on social media and play games instead of listening to their teacher. Besides, the chance
of cheating will increase. For example, students can use their phone's calculator in a math test, or
google the questions of their exam to find the answer without studying their lessons. They can also
take a picture of their answer and send it to other students. Like many students, I was addicted to my
phone so this rule was annoying although I knew it was necessary.

• I'd like to about one of the outstanding boxers of all time, whose name was Mohammad Ali. He
passed away several years ago, but I think his name will always be remembered. I'll start by telling
you when I got familiar with his name, it was ten years ago if my memory serves me right. I came
across a documentary about his life. Although I heard a lot about him, I found that his personal
and professional life was far more interesting than I had expected. So I decided to search for him.
The more I knew about him, the more I was impressed by his character.
• His life was full of legendary moments. He was very smart in the ring, and I was amazed by his
punches and movements. The most famous match was between him and Frazier, which is known as
the fight of the century. I really admire him not only because he was a professional athlete and a
champion, but also because of his characteristics which are so worthy of respect. Outside of the
ring, he was also a hero. He was modest and gregarious and never showed off and boasted about
his abilities. Besides, his philosophy of life was very inspiring for me. I watched his interviews, which
were full of thought-provoking sentences.

world know him. He is an entrepreneur and investor. He is also the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter. He had a
meteoric rise to fame and His innovative ideas kept him in the full glare of publicity in recent years. He is now a role
model for many people in the world who want to be a successful person. One thing that makes him outstanding is his
ambitious plans to experience far-reaching ideas. Almost every day, people hear some news about his interviews and
statements about technology and future developments.
• He's been so determined and conscientious, and thanks to his hard work and persistence, he managed to battle
against many difficulties and overcome obstacles. He is also famous for being a risk -taker. He has taken some
dangerous steps to bring his work and life to the next level. His courageous personality is so exciting for many people.
Many people try to follow in his footsteps to go out of their comfort zones and become more successful.

• It must have been a year ago when I was working on my university project. When I tried to turn on
my laptop, I realized the screen wasn't working. I restarted the laptop to see if it could be fixed, but
unfortunately, nothing happened. It was a major problem and I couldn't use my laptop without a
screen. I got stressed out as I had to meet a tight deadline. All of the files were on my laptop, and I
couldn't finish the university project without it. I knew my laptop was obsolete and I had to replace
it, but I was short of money. My budget didn't stretch to buying a new one. So I had no choice but
to have my laptop repaired. I called one of my friends to introduce me to a reliable person to fix my
computer. I took my laptop to a famous store in my hometown. The repairman first tried to see if
the screen could be fixed or not, but sadly I had to replace it. I was sad as I was expected to pay
more money but I had to bite the bullet. I asked the person to fix my laptop as soon as possible,
and thankfully he repaired it in just two days. Although I'd lost two days, I finally managed to finish
my project on time.

• A friend of mine used to struggle with managing his time a lot. He would always run out of time and couldn't meet tight
deadlines. It wasn't easy for him to juggle my demanding work responsibilities. Besides, he couldn't strike a work -life balance
since he was always working around the clock. So I decided to be a helping hand. I suggested having a to -do list each night so
that he could have a clearer picture of his daily tasks and responsibilities. Although he didn't think it could make a change at
first, when he kept writing down his plans for several days, he realized that the recommendation was far more beneficial than
he had expected. He could see the tangible results and immediate benefits of it. And, of course, He appreciated my help and
support.

• Moving on to what pieces of advice I gave him, I told him to try to brainstorm about what he had to do and then prioritize
them in order of importance. He took my pints and pushed himself to the limits to finish the most important tasks first. It c ould
save a lot of time since he would waste a lot of time if he postponed his important and sometimes daunting tasks.

• Some people might jump to a conclusion and think just keeping their plans in their minds is enough, but I believe it's an err or
of judgment. It goes without saying that we can't remember everything. Having said that, the more we write down our plans in
detail, the more we will be aware of what we should do and what we should avoid. So it can hopefully help them save more
time for necessary activities.

• To put it in a nutshell, if I hadn't given my friend those pieces of advice, he would be struggling with his heavy workload. To
me, helping is always rewarding, and I hope I'll be able to help more people in my life.

• It must have been three years ago when I visited my uncle's company for the first time. He is a successful
businessperson. Since ten years ago, he's been running his own business. I'd heard a lot about how good my
uncle is at work, but when I visited his company, I was far more impressed by his working style and charisma
than I had expected. Although he went bankrupt several times, he ended up running a lucrative business. He
didn't give up, and thanks to his hard work and persistence, he managed to overcome the obstacles and battle
against the difficulties.
• He has built some skills which can help him be a successful manager. He's a punctual person. His time
management skills have helped him be able to meet tight deadlines. He usually sets some measurable goals and
assigns clear responsibilities to his employees to achieve the company's goal soon. Besides, he knows his target
market well and applies some strategies to gain and increase customer satisfaction. He is also a democratic
manager, giving his employees the chance to have clear career paths and promotion prospects. These abilities
and attitudes have helped him go from strength to strength and make more profit. Not only is he a successful

• One of the major cities in Iran is called Isfahan. Many tourists not only from Iran but also from other countries
travel to the city to go sightseeing and visit its beautiful places. Historical monuments and prominent landmarks
as well as its green spaces have made this city a popular destination. It must have been 5 years ago when I
visited Isfahan for the first time. Although I'd heard a lot about this city, when I visited it for the first time, it was
far more interesting than I had expected. The more I visited the historical places, the more I was impressed by its
great architecture. In particular, I did enjoy visiting Naghsh-e-Jahan Square, one of its main landmarks. The
symmetrical design and the detailed patterns of the buildings were amazing. Besides, this city is known for its
bridges. Again the sophisticated design of these bridges caught my eye. This city has also some natural
attractions. There is a mountain called Sofe. I climbed this mountain on my last visit and the view of the city
from the top of the mountain was mesmerizing. Personally, I like souvenirs of this city as well. The style and
patterns of the clothes looked stunning and attractive.
• To put it in a nutshell, I think this city has not been introduced as well as it deserves. It can attract many more
visitors and generate more income. I hope the authorities will come up with some plans to introduce the city
better. I'm really looking forward to revisiting this beautiful city.

• One of the major cities in Iran is called Isfahan. This city is full of tourist attractions, but I guess some of
its natural attractions have been ignored by visitors. Many tourists not only from Iran but also from other
countries travel to the city to go sightseeing and visit its beautiful places. Historical monuments and
prominent landmarks as well as its green spaces have made this city a popular destination. Tourists are
usually told about some places like Naghsh-e-Jahan Square and Isfahan's historical bridges. They are
also often busy visiting some local markets and buying souvenirs. But there is a mountain in this city
called Sofe which is worth a visit. It must have been five years ago when a friend suggested going
mountain climbing. Although I wanted to visit other historical monuments in the city, I decided to go
there with my friend. Thankfully, that mountain was far more interesting than I had expected. The view of
the city from the top of it was mesmerizing. There were also some footpaths to make the climbing safer.
The silence and tranquility of the mountain was another fascinating thing about it. I took several pictures
and shared them on social media, and almost everybody was amazed by how beautiful the views were.

• It must have been four years ago when I decide to change my lifestyle. To be completely honest, I used to have a
sedentary lifestyle. I was a couch potato who wasn't keen on any sports activities. Obviously, I had gained weight
and wasn't in a good shape. After a while, I came across a documentary about the damaging consequences of a
sedentary lifestyle. It sounded an alarm for me. I found out that my way of living was far more harmful than I had
expected. The more I watched it, the more I was frightened. It was a wake-up call for me to change my lifestyle.
• I decided to set new dietary restrictions for myself. I tried to cut down on the amount of fattening food and
instead eat more fruit and vegetable. I also joined a gym to do some regular exercise. It was a tough job to get the
hang of the new habits, but I was determined to change my life. Thankfully, after several months, I could see the
tangible results of my decision. I had lost weight and was in better shape. Thanks to my hard work and persistence,
I could see the obvious benefits of a healthier lifestyle. I was over the moon and proud of myself. My parents and
some of my friends also gave me a compliment about the changes I had made in my life. It taught me a lesson
that as long as I put all of my efforts into a goal, I can achieve it.

• It's been around three years that a friend of mine has his own restaurant. I met him at high school. Even in high
school, he was pretty good at cooking some snacks when went on a picnic. He was very patient while cooking. To
be completely honest, I always wish I would be as patient as him while cooking. He gained admission to a
university, but I vividly remember, he didn't like his lessons at all, and after a few semesters, he left the university.
Both his parents and some of his friends blamed him for his decision. But he didn't give up and did his best to
follow what he really liked. He joined some cooking courses to learn both national and international recipes. He
was hired by a famous restaurant as a cook and thankfully gained some valuable experience. After a while, he took
another risk and left his job to run his own business. He rented a small restaurant in our home which then turned
out to be a lucrative business. He offers a varied menu. He can cook traditional Iranian food as well as some
international food such as pizza and burgers. He always tries to use healthy and nutritious ingredients as he cares
a lot about his customers. Besides, his dishes are affordable and very tasteful and because of that, he has gained
more customer satisfaction and popularity. Not only local people but also tourists from different cities and even
countries enjoy eating food in his restaurant.

• Six months ago, I decided to study for the IELTS exam. I thought I could quickly get a high score on this exam, but
it turned out to be far more challenging and tiring than I had expected. I had to meet the deadline of the
universities and decided to have a steep learning curve. For all four skills in this exam, I was obliged to spend
enough time. Improving my general English as well as learning the techniques and test formats weren't so easy. I
had to memorize many new words, collocations, phrasal verbs and idioms. Activating them in my speaking and
writing was so frustrating as I kept forgetting them. Besides, I wasn't familiar with the question topics not only in
speaking but also in writing. To be completely honest, I wasn't very keen on some hot topics in IELTS like history
and environment, so reading some ideas about them was tedious. Improving my skills for this exam was a long -
term process. As I'm an impatient person, following my study routines for several months looked a little bit
monotonous. Sometimes I couldn't see a tangible improvement and wanted to give up. However, as I was

It must have been two years ago when a friend of mine invited me to go mountain climbing. At first, I was
reluctant to accept his invitation. I just thought climbing the mountain early in the morning was tedious and tiring.
But in fact, it turned out to be one the most exciting experiences that I've ever had. This activity was far more
exhilarating and entertaining than I had expected. My friend is an energetic person and that added to the joy of
the climb. He is always bursting with energy and has a good sense of humour. That's why I did enjoy his company.
Climbing the rocks was physically demanding but I was happy to relish the challenge of trying something new. My
friend knew some shortcuts and that helped us reach the peak of the mountain sooner. It was just before the
sunrise. Luckily, we arrived there on time and managed to see the rising sun. I was fascinated by the view of the
sun. Besides, watching the city from the top of the mountain was mesmerizing. Another interesting part of the
climb was having breakfast at the top of the mountain. We had an omelets and tea for breakfast. Although it was
just a simple breakfast, it was really tasty. That experience not only helped me have a change of scenery but also
pushed me to escape from the sedentary lifestyle and do some exercise.

• Almost everybody in the world is tired of the adverts. We've been bombarded with too many adverts every day,
and they are usually annoying as they exaggerate the positive features of the products just to make more profit.
However, recently, I came across a TV advert which caught my eye. There is a series of TV adverts to encourage
people to buy local products instead of buying imported ones. They show the Iranian workers who are
unemployed, but when people buy the items produced in Iran, they get happy as they can come back to work.
These adverts sometimes show the benefits of buying local products for customers like cheaper prices and better
quality. Although they seem sometimes cliche and repetitive, I guess it is useful to remind people how important it
is to support locally produced items. At the end of each advert, we see some statistics showing how beneficial it
will be for the economy of the country if more and more people buy Iranian products. These adverts also give us
some information about how some developed countries achieved booming economies. For example, during these
adverts, there are some short documentaries showing how the Japanese managed to overcome financial obstacles
after supporting local products and manufacturers. I believe that these types of adverts can help raise people's
awareness. Some people don't know that small steps can lead to tangible results. Unfortunately, in our country,
we've been facing economic instability and rampant inflation, and one of the ways to solve the problems is to
encourage buying more local products. These adverts can sometimes shed light on this issue.

• It must have been three years ago when I came across a video clip about an Australian boy who could speak 17
languages fluently. This video went viral as it is unbelievable to see a person with this ability. In fact, learning just a
second language is a daunting task for many people let alone 17 languages. The boy had an interview on a TV
channel. He could speak Spanish, Italian and even some African languages. When the TV host asked him about his
favourite languages, he said he liked Frasi, my mother tongue, the most. Many Iranian people shared this video
clip on their social media accounts. It was so interesting for me to see a person boy from Australia is that keen on
our language. He said that he was first impressed by a famous Persian poet called Hafez. He even recited some of
the most difficult poems of Hafez very fluently and accurately. It's even difficult for Iranian people to read his
poems correctly and understand their meanings.
• There are several reasons why he has learned Farsi that well. First of all, I guess he is very intelligent. Honestly
speaking, it's not possible for ordinary people to learn foreign languages that quickly and accurately. Besides, he is
so passionate about learning. His thirst for learning has perhaps enabled him to put up with the difficulties of
learning another language such as understanding the grammar rules and memorizing the vocabulary.

• When the result of the university exam was announced, I was over the moon. I got a very good rank which allowed
me to study at one of the top universities in Iran. I'll start by talking about this exam a little more. This exam is
absolutely essential in our country. It is believed that if you could gain admission to a good university, you would
have a promising and bright future. However, gaining admission to top universities is a daunting task. First of all,
there is an intense competition between candidates. Many students do their best to get a good rank. Besides, you
have to study a sheer volume of different lessons. You should have clear daily, weekly and even monthly plans,
buy some books, and take part in different mock exams. There is a steep learning curve as the candidates usually
need to meet tight deadlines to get prepared for their exams. The questions of the exams are often tricky and full
of distractors, so a quick review is not enough to get your desired result. I was determined and hardworking to
study well for my exam. Although it was tiring and even disappointing sometimes, I pushed myself to the limits to
put up with the challenges. When the result of the exam was announced, my parents and I were absolutely
ecstatic. It was one of the happiest moments in my life. Seeing the result of my efforts made me feel proud of
myself.

• It must have been four years ago when I came across a book about contemporary history. To be completely
honest, I didn't use to be very keen on reading about history, but that book changed my mind. In particular, I was
impressed by the time when the industrial revolution took place. The more I read about it, the more I found some
interesting pieces of information.
• I'm not sure about the exact years of this period, but it should be around 200 or 250 years ago. The industrial
revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in some parts of the world. As far as I know, it's the
beginning of the modern world. It was the stepping stone for many technological innovations. Almost all historians
believe that it was a major turning point in history. It has made sweeping changes not only to our personal lives
