Coconut Milk SHAMPOO

I. Objective:
• To create a coconut milk shampoo.
• To identify the different functions of the ingredients
• To write a correct shampoo formulation & label

II. Materials:
2 Pan balance
3 Beaker 100ml
3 Beaker 250 ml
1 Beaker 500ml
3 Stirring rod
2 Graduated cylinder 20ml
1 glass dropper
5 spatula
1 empty clear press pump shampoo container 200ml
PH test strips

Ingredients

1/4 cup Castile soap


1/4 cup coconut milk
1/2 tsp jojoba oil (use olive oil if you don’t have on hand, but may create a more oily feel)
10 drops essential oils (peppermint)

Procedure:
Weigh all the ingredients

Mix the ingredients in the given order and stir gently.


Transfer the finished product
Check and record the pH level of the finished product

For accuracy: weigh every ingredient using your lab scale

¼ cup = 60ml
½ tsp = 2.5ml
10 gtts =0.5ml

1/4 cup Castile soap


1/4 cup coconut milk
1/2 tsp jojoba oil (use olive oil if you don’t have on hand, but may create a more oily feel)
10 drops essential oils (lavender)

Formula:
