drowsiness of the driver and alcohol detection system using the methods of sensors. The
automatic drowsy driver monitoring and accident prevention system that is based on monitoring
the changes in the eye blink duration. The solution focuses on computer vision systems that can
detect and recognize the facial motion and appearance changes occurring during drowsiness. In
this study, the researchers propose a non-contact method to detect the level of the driver’s
fatigue. The method employs the use of only the vehicle mounted camera, making it unnecessary
for the driver to carry any on/in-body devices. Our design uses each frame image to analyze and
Sleeping is one of the basic needs of the human being, sleep lack causes the body to react
inefficiently, reducing both reaction time and wakefulness, also produce low alertness and lose
of concentration which reduces the ability to perform activities based on care that is necessary in
On a survey that has been done recently, said that nearly 70% of road accidents occur due
to drunken drive, with a range of 44% to 67% in small cities. There happens to occur lot of road

tendency to fall asleep or weariness. Because of weariness, driver lose their control which may
divert them from the street and prompts serious mishaps. Basically these mishaps may because
of the driver tired condition. Driving continuously for quite a while prompts tiredness and make
them to lost their awareness. Due to substantial increment in the number of mischances day by
day which makes a major issue (L. Ramesh & M. Monisha, 2017).
According to the National Sleep Foundation, about half of U.S. adult drivers admit to
consistently getting behind the wheel while feeling drowsy. About 20% admit to falling asleep
behind the wheel at some point in the past year – with more than 40% admitting this has
happened at least once in their driving careers. These startling figures show how prevalent
drowsy driving is. What drivers may not realize is how much drowsy driving puts 3 themselves –
and others – at risk. In fact, an estimated 5,000 people died in 2015 in crashes involving drowsy
