TIME STUDY
Introduction:

On Saturday 16th July, 2023 at about 1:21pm, a visit was made to the proposed 3-storey building
at Ayeduas and a time study conducted by the members of the 14th group of the Quantity
Surveying and Construction Economics class [3B].
The study was conducted for two hours and four minutes and the requisite data collected for
further analysis and working up. A time study table, abstract table and summary table were
prepared afterwards based on the data collected. Details of the study are outlined below.

 Work Activity: Block Laying
 Elements:
 L1- Transporting and placing of mortar
 L2- Carrying and placing of blocks
 L3- Giving of blocks and mortar to the layer
 L4 – Laying of blocks

NB:
The operatives studied was a gang of 4, with L1 transporting and placing of mortar , L2
carrying and placing of blocks , L3 giving of blocks and mortar to the layer and L4 laying of
blocks.
