Diary Lord of the Files

Dear Diary,
I really miss home and unfortunately I don’t not know if I will ever meet my aunt again. She
will probably assume that we are dead. I wonder if they investigated our case and learnt
about the plane crush. Apart from the conditions we come to live in, my asthma is not
making things easier as I cannot run, swim, or take part in any adventurous expedition
around the island. The embarrassment I felt when I could not blow into the conch was
unforgettable.

I was also mistaken that I could built a long-term relationship with Ralph while being
isolated. I confided to him that I deeply dislike being called Piggy because was traumatized
from my classmates who used to taunt me with that nickname. He tricked me and revealed
my nickname to the others when we introduced ourselves. Furthermore, it was deemed
necessary to elect a chief due to no adult presence on the island. For us to survive, we have
to establish order so that we do not waste time lazily. The use of the conch worked for Ralph
at the moment of the election and thus he is now the one in charge. However, neither of
Ralph nor Jack, who were acknowledged to be qualified for that position, seem to have a
realistic approach to the situation. Ralph believes that because his dad worked at the Navy
he will soon come and rescue us. Such a childish behavior.

In our gathering we decided that we establish a search party to go explore the area. Once
again not only I was excluded from the party, but I was charged to make a list of the names
of all the boys present. Eventually, Ralph, Jack and Simon confirmed that the island is
uninhibited as they announced during assembly. Having endured all that, once we reach the
mountaintop they took brutally my spectacles to light the fire. Proving once more their
incapability to behave in a responsible manner, they soon realized that they have started a
forest fire. Not considering that the fire would threat kids laboring around the area, they
blamed me for the absence of one of them. How am I supposed to keep track of them when
they scatter around the minute you draw their attention?

They act arbitrary relying on their physical strengths, whereas they should prioritize the
need for a plan of action. Imagine that they almost broke the conch. These guys really make
me lose my temper. How couldn’t they think to build shelters for nights ahead? Anyway, I
hope that brighter days will come and we will eventually find the way home.

I will write again soon, bye for now.
