3) Remove the 8 fasteners1 (“A”) from the cover and carefully disconnect #4 gauge wire
from motor case. Move channel and cover out of the way exposing the top of the electric
motor. Disconnect the 2 wires (1 each #4, and 1 each #20 gauge). See below.

NOTE:
Ensure you retain the key from the keyway on the electric motor shaft2.

1
For Hydraulic Hover Refill Pump-remove 2 fasteners (“A”) from the pump motor housing. There are no electrical
connections on this assembly. See Figure 2.
2
Applies to Electric Hover Refill Pumps only.

7) Remove the Nut (“E”) holding the shaft (“F”) in place. See Figure 2.
NOTE:
Ensure you retain the key from the key seat on the impeller shaft.

9) Remove the bearing (Item 1) and discard. It is pressed into the volute and will need to be
pressed out. See Figure 2.
CAUTION
Support the volute to prevent damage to the housing while pressing the bearing out.

2.1.2 REASSEMBLY:
1) Locate the 9 parts from the Hover Refill Pump Rebuild Kit No.300-106 001-001.
2) Press the impeller shaft (“F”) into the bearing (Item 1). See Figure 3.

4) Press Bearing/Shaft assembly into volute.

CAUTION
Support the volute to prevent damage to the housing while pressing the bearing in.

5) Lubricate the Viton O-ring using lube included in kit. Install the O-ring (Item 2) onto the
impeller shaft against the bearing. See below.

6) Lube external surface of the seal sleeve (Item 6), slide it over the impeller shaft and the
Viton O-ring and tighten against the bearing. See below.

“6” Seal sleeve

NOTE:
With the seal sleeve tight against the bearing, it is recommended to secure its position on
the impeller shaft by using tape below it. See below.

Tape

CAUTION
Insure the seal sleeve does not fall below the oil seal. Doing so will permit water to flow
past the seal into the electric motor enclosure.

7) Press the impeller shaft assembly into the volute without allowing the seal sleeve to fall
below the oil seal.
NOTE:
If tape was installed to prevent the seal sleeve from falling below the oil seal, remove it at
this time.

8) Install the key in the impeller shaft key seat and install the impeller (“M”), shims (Item
7), washer (“O”)and nut (“E”). Torque 30 in. lb. Check for proper clearance between
the impeller and volute. Best clearance is .010 inch. See Figure 3.

“M” Impeller

block

9) Install the impeller cover (“L”), shims (Item 8) and bolts and washers (“D”). Torque 25
in. lb; check for proper clearance between the impeller and impeller cover. Best
clearance is .030 inch. See Figure 3.
10) Pack lithium based grease through the available port in the pump support (“G”)
simultaneously rotating the shaft to ensure that the grease spreads evenly throughout
the internal volume.
11) Reinstall the screen along with the items shown in Figure 3 using the fasteners removed
earlier (“D”). Torque 25 in. lb. See figure 2.
12) Lubricate the Viton O-ring using lube included in kit. Install the new O-ring (item 3) in
the volute (“J”). See Figure 2.
13) Reinstall the pump support on the volute using the 3 fasteners removed earlier (“C”).
See Figure 2. Torque 25 in-lbs.
14) Reinstall new gasket (Item 5), existing enclosure, and electric motor with key using the
4 fasteners removed earlier (”B”)4. Use Permatex sealer on both gasket surfaces. See
Figure 2.
15) Reconnect the electric wiring in reverse order2.
16) Install pump motor cover applying Permatex to seal it.
17) Reassemble pump and hose.
2.2 REINSTALLATION OF SYSTEM:
Re-install hover pump to tank per system installation manual.

4
Install Hydraulic Pump Motor using hardware removed earlier. Torque 25 in.-lb. Gasket, Item #5, is not used on
hydraulic pumps.

APPENDIX A BOLT USAGE SPECIFICATIONS

A.1 General notes for bolts installation:
Unless otherwise specified, torque all fasteners per Table 1 below. The following rules apply when
choosing the proper size (length) of the fasteners:
Bolts lengths may be reduced or increased as much as .125 in (e.g. an AN4-6 may be shortened to
AN4-5, or lengthened to AN4-7) as long as proper engagement of the self-locking feature of the
nut is retained and the nut does not bottom out on the shank when torqued. Bolts of the same
series (e.g. AN or MS) must be used.
Additional washers, up to a maximum total of three for any bolt – nut combination, may be used,
two under the nut, one under the head. “Light” washers may be substituted for standard washers
where needed (e.g. AN960-416L may be substituted for AN960-416).
Bolts, studs or screws must extend through the self-locking nut for a minimum length equivalent to
two thread pitches. Length includes the chamfer. (Ref. MS33588).

CAUTION
THE FOLLOWING TORQUE VALUES ARE DERIVED FROM OIL FREE CADMIUM PLATED THREADS.
