The group decided on this topic because the internet is the foundation for the future and many
people using the internet are unaware of the dangers that are present. The internet is important
for the future, which inspired me to research online businesses because they will supply us in
the future. I expect to improve/learn: summary skills and better sentence writing. I would use
these skills in researching by being able to mentally summarize sentences in articles for my
reflections. I would find these articles on the internet .

Whenever you reproduce someone else’s work that is secured by
copyright, you commit copyright infringement. With today’s internet tools,
it is quite easy to download and copy pretty much any material you find
online. However, if you reproduce another company’s text, images, code,
music, videos, and any other content for personal gains, you can face legal
persecution.
Artifact 3:

Every online business is vulnerable to cyber-attacks and security

breaches. Such online security risks may include unprotected web
services, phishing, and website hacking. With the development of
technologies, many hackers have also come up with the ability to
breach any company’s network in order to access their confidential

 Reflection 1

Online businesses are a big thing in the present and for the future though they are very useful
and user friendly they are easily accessible by hackers. Artifact 1 looks at the inevitable risk that
people starting online businesses may encounter and it also shows ways you can avoid them.
Artifact 2 teaches people the importance of copyright, the article goes on to teach people how to
avoid copyright infringement and how to copyright you own products. Artifact 3 explains the
possibilities of cyber-attacks and security breaches and how to avoid them, this article also
explains how to make a more secure online business and how to deal with hackers.
 Reflection 2

Artifact 1 is a factual infographic written in a technical form, An example of technical writing is

the use of words such as “malware” and explaining how it can affect online security. Artifact 2 is
an informative online article written in formal form, the piece of the article shown is to give more
information about the topic instead of trying to start a conversation with the reader. Artifact 3 is a
expository online article also written in formal form, the piece of the article given main objective
is to explain the risk of cyber-attacks and not trying to start a conversation with the reader.
 Reflection 3

This SBA has made me more confident from the oral presentation, allowing me to interact with
more people, allowing me to go to more group activities. I’ve been able to help some of my
friends with self improvement and have taught them how to improve their self-confidence. The
SBA has helped me increase my creativity, getting me back into making comics and stories
letting me use my imagination for more things, it has also improved my teamwork and team
bonding skills allowing me to converse more with my peers.
 Oral presentation Plan

The group theme was The dangers of The Internet, the internet is a place where you can find
basically anything, from searching up means to starting entire organizations. My individual topic
was online businesses, which are businesses structured on the web or as an app, they are the
new generation of businesses being able to buy, order or even learn without leaving your house.
The kind of presentation I chose was a story and I chose this format because I thought
explaining the downfall of a online business would be much more fun to do as a story. I will be
using informal language in my presentation. I hope to help other people understand the risks of
starting an online business.
 Written Report

Our SBA started with deep research of our topic ‘The Dangers Of The Internet’. The group

consisted of Joshua Franklin, Judah Weekes, Jesse Evelyn, Liam Toppin and Kihron Eastmond.

We used the internet to find sources of definitions and came together as a group to compile the

information. This SBA taught us how important it is to be aware of your activity online and this

new found information allowed us to make sure that others were not oblivious to this

importance. This topic is an important topic because the internet is becoming more heavily used

in modern day society and we need to be able to protect ourselves. We also improved our public

speaking skills by doing the oral presentation.

The artefacts we found were very thought provoking. Among these artefacts, these three were

the best. Artefact 1 is an infographic. It shows all the negative effects of cyberbullying that can

affect persons of all ages. It was chosen because it shows how detrimental cyberbullying can be

to someone’s mental health as depicted by the little girl in the infographic. Artefact 2 is a

summary of a report from the World Economic Forum Global Risks Report 2022. It shows many

short term global risks with cybersecurity failure as a top risk over the next 2 years. It shows you

how important it is for us to be aware of cybersecurity, what it is and how important it is.

Artefact 3 is another infographic that shows electronic commerce risks. It was chosen because it

graphically depicts all the risks that you should watch out for when dealing with ecommerce.

These are important to know because people all around the world are starting to deal in

ecommerce and many don’t understand the risks associated with it and how to safely use it.
