1. What is Software Engineering Code of Ethics.

The Software Engineering Code of Ethics focuses on providing high-quality software. They are committed
to analyzing, specifying, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software that is beneficial and
effective for the company or client.

2. Provide atleast five additional examples pf how the law of unintended consequences applies to
computer software.

1. Boy and girl internet friend ship:

Instant messengers were developed as a solution for fast, real time communication.

The problem that rose with this type of software is that - strangers can communicate

with each other.

2. Way of chatting in mobile phone:

Mobile phone communication technology helped in erasing communication barriers.

But the same technology showed a path to anti-social elements in creating havocs.

3. War (Web – apps span a wide array of applications):

Computers are used in the every field, which was a change the strategies of the user. One of the
examples is Digital automobile dashboard that shows an image in high quality resolution.

4. Enjoying the videos in piracy DVD/media:

The advent of laser disc technology helped to store the data easily at low costs.

Due to the low cost, the audio and video material is getting pirated.

5. Missile tracking system:

It is a great achievement in embedded systems area. The Missile tracking system used to know about
the paths of a missile.
3. Provide a number of example (both positive and negative) that indicates the impact of software on
our society.

*Software transformed the way of business operations where many ones can gather information,
communicate, and use their leisure time in a much meaningful way.

have enabled to get the work done in a much quicker efficient and accurate way.

*With the advent of software, our society is under constant threat from identity theft hacking viruses’

hazardous to our society way.

4. As software becomes more pervasive, risk to the public (due to faulty programs) become an
increasingly significant concern. Develop a doomsday but realistic scenario in which the failure of
computer program could do great harm (either economic or human).

People nowadays are spending almost 12 hours/ day scrolling on facebook, clicking and opening
untrusted links. One day there's this link that goes viral because of its text hyperlink/inage hyperlink that
makes everyone so curious. But this link will lead your account to the hacker, and this link automatically
duplicates your social media account that can harm you, and other people on your social media. This
might happen because of security failure.
