 Dialogue in simple present

Receptionist: Good evening! Welcome to "The Grandparents'

House, do you have a reservation?"

Dad: Good evening, of course in the name of Mr. Smith, for 4

people.

Receptionist: Perfect, I'll accompany you to his table. Over here

please.

[The family follows the receptionist and sits at the assigned

table]

Mom: This place looks very nice. What do you plan to order?

Boy: I think I'll order a hamburger.

Girl: I want pasta.

Boy: I'd better order a pasta with mushrooms.

Mom: How about we share some starters while we decide what to

order?

Dad: Good idea.

Waiter: Good evening, welcome, can I take your order.

Dad: We would like to order some nachos and meatballs as a
starter, please.

Waiter: Of course, I'll write down your order. Would you like
something to drink?

Girl: I want a soda.

Boy: Water for me, please.

Mom: Excuse me, do you have lemonade?

Waiter: Yes, we have. How many lemonades do you want?

Mom: Four, please.

Dad: Can you bring us a pitcher of ice water for the table?

Waiter: Sure, in a moment.

[The waiter goes to prepare the orders]

Dad: Does anyone have plans after dinner?

Girl: I have to study for a history exam tomorrow, the teacher

proposed that if everyone passes the exam, we will go on a field trip.

Boy: And I have soccer practice early.

Mom: where are you going on a hike?

Girl: I would like to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Mom: After dinner, we could watch a movie at home.

[The waiter returns with the drinks and entrees].

Waiter: Here are your drinks and the food you ordered. Are you
ready to place your order?

[Everyone makes their main orders].

Waiter: Understood, I'll take note of that. Your food will be ready
shortly. Enjoy your dinner.
