India accounts for the largest number of road related
deaths in the world. As many as 1.5 lakh people die and
over 3 lakh get injured every year in India in road accidents.

Considering the importance of tyres in overall road safety,

Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA), has
been intensely involved in creating awareness on Tyre Care
& Road safety. ATMA is ably assisted in this programme by
its technical arm Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee
(ITTAC), the national technical body entrusted with
creating standards for tyres in the country.

Several leading organisations including Indian Oil, Infosys,

Honda Cars, ISRPL, Pipapav Port, Amity University, Haryana
Tourism & Haryana Transport Department etc have joined
hands with ATMA/ ITTAC for tyre safety trainings both for
Passenger as well as Commercial vehicles .

For the irst time, an Ideathon is being held inviting

ideas from college students to improve road safety in the
country and how tyres can play a role therein. What's
more the chosen colleges will get to present their ideas
at a Safety conference being held at Bharat Mobility by
national industry bodies ATMA and ITTAC. Here follow
