Health Implications of Ocular Light

Health Implications of Ocular Light

- Why the best way to shift your Autonomic Nervous System from Sympathetic to Parasympathetic
dominance is by means of the Eyes and your Vision
- Why the proportion of Central/Focused Vision to Peripheral/Diffused Vision is important to your Health
- Why Minus Lenses in Glasses and Contact Lenses, as well as Refractive Surgery can cause systemic
illness
- Why Plus lenses are better to your Health of Body, Mind and Spirit
- Why Heavy Metal Poisoning and Light Hyper Sensitivity can be connected
- Why the Hypothalamus is central to the understanding of many Health Problems

Introduction: Why is Light through the Eyes (Ocular Light) and Vision so important
to the Health of Body, Mind and Spirit?

2/3 of the necessary energy supply to the CNS comes from the two retinae , and 98% of sunlight
enters the body through the eyes (thus being the body's primary acupuncture points,
leaving only 2% to enter through other acupuncture points on the skin). On the
other hand, the Retina has the highest energy demands/metabolic rate of any tissue in the entire
body, and the photoreceptor cell layer of the retina an even higher . It is the way, the eyes are
used, that determines if the eyes are contributing to the energy supply of
the body (charging the human battery), or conversely, if the eyes are draining the
energy supply of the body (discharging the human battery). Focused/foveal
vision will drain, while diffuse/peripheral vision will contribute to the energy
resources (see later in this text for an explanation).

50% of the blood volume of the body passes through the eyes in less than 40 minutes ,
and only in
the eyes is the blood exposed directly to the full visible spectrum of electromagnetic
quantum energies.

Contrary to acupuncture points later in the body circuit, eyes are before the brain in
the body's energy circuit flowing from top to bottom, thus stimulating the brain -
and the three light sensitive brain glands (Hypothalamus, Hypophysis and Pineal) -
highly. Research has confirmed , that light through the eyes (ocular light) are more
important to health than light exposing the skin. 90% of the sensory information coming to
a person through a lifetime enters as ocular light .

Also, a third of the brain is devoted to the visual system , including the portion of the
cerebral cortex devoted to vision . The occipital lobe is the only lobe in the cerebral cortex
entirely dedicated to one function, and that is vision. Added to these normal,
conscious seeing functions through the visual cortex (yielding information),
important energetic, unconscious seeing functions for autonomic, vegetative
functioning have central positions in the brain in the light sensitive brain glands
of the Hypothalamus, Hypophysis and Pineal gland ( here and here ) (yielding
energy and controlling bodily metabolism).

Eyes are superior to the other senses, shown by the fact that when collecting or constructing memories
from the other senses, eyes are always involved as the controlling sensory
organ ( here, p.19-
20 ). In combat , or other very stressfull situations characterized by Sympathetic
Nervous System dominance (such as chronic illness), focused eye sight become the
dominating source of information on behalf of peripheral
vision and the other basic senses
(sound, touch, taste, and smell), thus causing a condition known as perceptual
narrowing, or in this context peripheral narrowing or tunnel vision.

Like this, other sensory organs of the human body have several tasks. E.g. the mouth, besides taste
(information) takes in energy with the food. Besides smell (information), we also take in air and energy
through the nose, so why not expect the eyes to house several tasks? That is, to take in not only
information for normal vision, but also light energy for electrical functions throughout the nervous
system and cells of the body.

It also seems, eyes and ocular light has important functions as templates for physical regeneration throughout life and
not only in the fetus/embryo.

I am inspired a.o. by the work of eye surgeons Dr. Prentice (USA) and Dr. Hollwich (Germany), who
documented the profound influence of ocular light on the human organism.

The work of Dr. Prentice

Dr. Prentice was looking for eye strain in all the eyes muscles using plus lenses
(reading glasses for fogging the eye sight) and prisms, and using physical
health changes as indicators of how to proceed. The ciliary muscle is one of
seven eye muscles involved in the control of Vision, and an important one, as it
controls the degree of refraction of the crystalline eye lens, and is involved in
the high prevalence of myopia (nearsightedness) nowadays.

According to Dr. Prentice in his two books " The Eye in its Relation to Health " and " The eye, mind, energy and
matter ", myopia is caused by abnormal nerve innervations and imbalances in the ocular muscles
primarily due to excessive nearwork. As soon as these muscles are balanced/relaxed by
avoiding minus lenses, and instead use "fogging" by plus lenses (reading glasses), the abnormal nerve
innervation will cease, and often impressive improvements in general/systemic health conditions occur.
Dr. Prentice has seen improvement and cure in a.o. diabetes, nervous system disorders, and wasting
conditions.

The mechanism involved, is a relaxation of the ciliary muscle, since it will not have to stress anymore to
perform accommodation for near focus work, as it did, when the patient was wearing minus lenses (for
far vision).

This article is especially focusing on the ciliary muscle, and how to avoid strain and stress on this
muscle to avoid spasms and nervous and muscular system stress because of abnormal nerve
innervations related to this parasympathetically connected muscle ( through Cranial Nerve III (CN III) ,
or here). Dr. Prentice showed, the validity of his theories in many cases like this
authors with neuromuscular and -endocrine involvement.
