RAVEN JAYRONE G. MAMANSAG 7 DESCARTES

Liminal (2023)
Type of Film: FANTASY

The story unfolds with captivating premise blending elements of fantasy and self-
discovery. It's about a boy who discovers his powers to hop book to book he used it as
his form of escapism of the harsh reality and struggles of life.

As the protagonist hopped on the story he started to grow attached to the

characters of the story and he’d slowly realized his mistake on changing the plot of the
story and there will be consequences that he altered the story and now he is part of it
after an emotional rollercoaster of events , the climax happened when he’d finally
confessed to one of the characters in the story that he is not from that world and does
not belong to that story, but because he loves the female character in that story he
releases the her in to the real world and in exchange he sacrifice himself and be trapped
to the story in that book.

The story takes an intriguing turn with the scene that after 4 long years of the
protagonist being in the story, it seems like he is seeing another character who resemble
him and what he did before in entering the story in that book. It seems like what
happened to the protagonist is happening again. Hinting at a cyclical nature to the tale.

Overall, the story appears to offer a blend of fantasy, romance and introspection,
making it compelling to watch and with some elements of emotional depth and
suspense.

Normalies (2023)
Type of film: Comedy

It’s about a girl named Joy that don’t know how to get along well with her fellow
classmates and don’t have friends, and one normal day her teacher gave them a book
that our protagonist has no interest reading it until she reads it and gets interested about
it and become hooked to it, because of the book entitled the “Normal People” Joy’s
transformation into an engaged reader adds an interesting twist as she thinks that to be
able for her to get along with her classmates and have friends she must imitates what
the character on the book is doing. The book will serve as her guide and resonates with
the main character of the book Connell.

But as Joy imitate what the character on the book is doing, the more that the
people who surround the protagonist becomes irritated with her because she seems to
be trying hard, and those things that she does becomes annoying to people.

The climax, where Joy discovers the importance of being true to herself and one
person just need to find common interests with others are the key to have friends.

I recommend the movie because I like comedy genre of film and aside from it, we
can get important lesson from it. I can relate to Joy because as a grade 7 student who is
new to the environment at first, I also felt that way like our protagonist but as the days
pass I began to adjust and have some friends not only in our classroom but also from
other year levels.
