Coordinate Geometry:

Coordinate geometry, also known as analytic

geometry, is a branch of mathematics that
combines algebraic techniques with geometric
concepts. It involves representing points in a
plane as ordered pairs of numbers and using
algebraic equations to describe and analyze
geometric figures. Coordinate geometry finds
applications in mathematics education, physics
for studying motion and physical systems,
engineering for designing structures and
analyzing circuits, and computer science for
computer graphics.

Consider two points, A(3, 4) and B(7, 1). To find the

distance between these points, we can use the distance
formula.
Using the coordinates of A and B in the distance
formula:
d = √((7 - 3)^2 + (1 - 4)^2) = √((4)^2 + (-3)^2) = √(16
+ 9) = √25 = 5
