Note :
The meaning can change with some verbs that can be followed by both infinitives and
gerunds. Here are examples of verbs with a change in meaning depending on the form used:

Remember:
Infinitive: He remembered to call his mother. (He remembered to perform the action of
calling his mother.)
Gerund: He remembered calling his mother. (He remembered the action of calling his

mother, possibly implying that he remembered the experience or conversation.)

Stop:
Infinitive: She stopped to eat lunch. (She stopped what she was doing in order to eat lunch.)
Gerund: She stopped eating lunch. (She ceased the activity of eating lunch, possibly
indicating that she was interrupted or lost her appetite.)

Regret:
Infinitive: I regret to inform you that the event has been canceled. (I feel sorry to perform
the action of informing you.)
