Important information, please read before installing oil pump pick-up.

• Note the three intake pick-up pipe screws with six washers shown below in Fig.1.
• Please remove screws and discard the washers. DO NOT RE-USE THE WASHERS.
• Align the correct pick-up pipe assembly with gasket supplied and reinstall the three
cap screws without the washers.
• Torque the three cap screws to 41Nm. (30Ib/ft).
• Rotate pump input shaft several revolutions and check for free rotation.
• Install oil pump to engine casting and torque assembly bolts to 47Nm. (35Ib/ft).
• Lubricate outlet tube sealing ‘O’ rings with engine oil, and insert tube.

Note:
This pump is used in a wide variety of John Deere applications and is of the latest design. In a small
number of applications the sump will interfere with the newly fitted oil pump pick-up pipe. If this is the
case then grind off sufficient material from the oil pan to allow for a 6.35mm clearance.

If your pick-up pipe is totally incompatible with the new pump design, it will need replacing.
As this only affects a small percentage of applications please consult your John Deere dealer for further
information on the correct replacement part.
