Impacts of Deforestation to Human
Beings & Environment

Trees are one of the most important aspects of the planet Earth. Trees
are vitally important to the environment, animals, and of course for human
beings. They are important for the climate of the Earth, as they act as filters
of carbon dioxide. Forests are known as habitats and shelters to millions of
species. However, the trees on the planet are being depleted at a very fast
rate.
Deforestation is a big problem for humans and also for the whole
ecosystem. While it is quite profitable for certain small groups like farmers,
deforestation is extremely harmful to the planet since it enhances global
warming and also leads to the extinction of many species. It also increases
the likelihood of floods and other natural disasters. Thus, you should make
sure to minimize the deforestation process on a global scale.
In this learning activity, you will learn the different negative effects of
deforestation to the environment.
III. Activity Proper
Column A Column B
1. Agriculture A. the process of producing food, feed,
fiber and many other desired
products by the cultivation of certain
plants and the raising of
domesticated animals or livestock.
2. Desertification B. cutting down trees in a forest to
harvest timber for wood, products or
fuel
3. Forest Fires C. Due to population growth, more and
more space is needed for the
building of houses and the related
infrastructure.
4. Logging D. the addition of any substance or any
form of energy to the environment at
a rate faster than it can be dispersed,
diluted, decomposed, recycled, or
stored in some harmless form
5. Mining E. the use of coal and oil mines the
chemicals used for the extraction of
the resources are often dumped into
nature
6. Urbanization F. the process through which cities
grow, and higher and higher
percentages of the population comes
to live in the city
G. It happens due to extreme warm
summers and milder winters
whether caused by man or nature,
results in a massive loss of forest
cover
