7. Let’s play!
10mins. +
Divide students into two teams and have them stand in lines. Show or say a word related to a topic, e.g. "dog".
The first student in each team must think of a WH-question that relates to that word, e.g. "What do dogs eat?" or
"Where do dogs sleep?". Once they ask their question, they go to the end of their team’s line. The next student in
line must then think of a different WH-question related to the same word. The game continues until all students
have asked a question. A point is awarded to the team that finishes first. If a team cannot think of a new WH-
question, the other team gets the point. Repeat the process with a new word.
This activity allows students to practice using the WH-questions - Who, What, When, Where, Why, Which, Whom
and How. Remember, the goal is to create a question that makes sense, and it should not be the same as a question
already asked by a teammate.
