What is Artificial Intelligence?
The term artificial intelligence (AI) describes how computers, especially
computer systems, may simulate human intelligence processes. It includes a
range of methods and tools that let computers carry out operations that
usually call for human intelligence, like
inferring from experience, reasoning,
solving problems, comprehending natural
language, and identifying patterns.
Artificial intelligence systems assess
information, make decisions, and adjust to
changing surroundings using algorithms
and data—often with progressively higher
accuracy and efficiency. AI is altering the
way we live, work, and interact with
technology with its many applications
across a wide range of industries,
including healthcare, banking,
transportation, entertainment, and more.
The emergence of AI and related
technologies like automation may threaten specific jobs or wipe out wholesale
industries such as manufacturing, customer service and research analysis as
AI improves and companies look to lower costs associated with human labor.
Ways to minimize AI’s effects on job loss

➢ Seek out local, state and federal educational and training initiatives to equip
workers for positions that directly or indirectly benefit from AI technologies.
➢ Search for social and educational programs aimed at fostering lifelong learning
so that employees can adjust to changing job demands and technology
improvements.
➢ Join existing social networks that encourage and innovative an
entrepreneurial culture to build new industries and employment possibilities
that take advantage of AI technology. If none are available, create your own
social network to share information and stay up-to-date on emerging
industries and technologies.
➢ Pursue job placement and transition initiatives that assist displaced workers
in finding jobs in new industries or areas that are less likely to be automated.
➢ Be informed on new and changing regulations and incentives in place to
motivate businesses to give employee development and retention a higher
priority than automation.
➢ Promote cooperation between the public and private sectors in order to
pinpoint new skill needs and create specialized training initiatives.
➢ Encourage inclusivity and diversity in the creation and application of AI to
reduce prejudice and guarantee fair and equal access to employment
opportunities.
