To Whom it May Concern,

It is my honor to recommend Tyler Clouse for the Doctor of Education in Leadership for Educational
Equity, Urban and Diverse Communities program. Tyler and I work together daily at a highly diverse
organization that provides educational services to underserved communities. The students in our
classrooms require teachers with a multitude of instructional abilities, content knowledge, and
classroom management strategies. I consistently see Tyler applying a wide variety of tools to ensure that
his students’ learning needs are met.

As a colleague, I am inspired by Tyler’s hard work, tenacity, follow through, and innovative problem
solving. He demonstrates strong writing skills and is an excellent communicator. His passion for serving
his community extends beyond the classroom. He is heavily involved in the special education community,
coaches the unified football team, and has a strong priority for caring for others in need.

Tyler has vocalized a desire to advance his career into educational leadership so that he can positively
influence, lead, and change one of the most important societal infrastructures—the educational system.
He is an outstanding informal leader now, so I am confident that he will be an extraordinary formal
leader as he progresses his career. His future goal is to land on the Colorado Board of Education. Being
doctorally prepared provides Tyler the requisite core competencies and credentials to be a highly
effective educational leader.

Understanding the rigor required to complete a doctoral program, I am confident that Tyler is an ideal
doctoral learner. He has endless energy, outstanding time management, strong writing skills, and as an
English teacher, has command of core grammar and language skills. Together with his unending
commitment to his diverse community, Tyler makes the perfect learner for this program. I am confident
that he will finish the degree and proudly represent the University of Colorado Denver!

I am happy to answer any questions!

Warm Regards,

Steve Fendry, M.E. B.A.
