My name is Taylor Koisti and I am writing to be considered a student-teacher candidate for your
school district. I am a second-year student at Dakota State University majoring in Elementary
Education. I am also minoring in PreK-12 Reading and K-12 Educational Technology. I am
excited to begin student teaching as a final step of my teacher preparation program.

My time at Dakota State has greatly prepared me for student teaching in your district. I have
strengths in phonics and phonological awareness instruction along with comprehension and
vocabulary instruction. Some of my strengths include positivity, communication, and patience. I
have so much passion for impacting the lives of my future students. The coursework and
experience at DSU have provided me the confidence to teach the best concepts and make
learning engaging by using relevant technology integration and methods.
