My name is Alexus Foster and I am writing to be considered as a teacher candidate in your district. I am a
fourth-year student at Dakota State University majoring in K-8 Elementary and K-12 Special Education. I
also have my K-12 Technology Endorsement, along with minors in K-12 Reading and English as a New
Language. I had great preparation through my student teaching placements that makes me feel confident
to step into my own classroom.

My skills, teaching philosophy, and experience have prepared me to be an exceptional student teacher for
your district. I excel in all content areas and pedagogical approaches that are proven effective with
elementary and middle school students. I have strengths in leadership, organization, and innovation, and I
am passionate about promoting the holistic growth of students. My coursework at DSU and student
teaching in the Madison School District has prepared me to equip students with an attitude of lifelong
learning as I provide them with a foundational understanding of all content areas complemented by
relevant technology integration and literacy. I am also interested in being involved in extracurricular roles
in your district to support students in developing every aspect of themselves.
