To Whom It May Concern:

As a graduate of the Arizona State University, it is with a great sense of accomplishment

and a strong educational foundation that I enter the workforce. I am writing to apply for a full
time position as an elementary school teacher in the charter system at the Academy of Tucson
Elementary School. I will be graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Education Studies. Within
my major, I could concentrate and learn about developmental disabilities and human services. I
believe working for your school and with your students will give me the opportunity to display
the specific set of skills that I have acquired throughout my undergraduate career.

In completing courses that pertain to my major and special interests, I have gained a great
deal of knowledge in courses such as special education studies which has provided me with a
foundational understanding of different types of learning disabilities and other cognitive delays a
child may struggle with academically. Additionally, I have taken developmental psychology,
which I believe gave me the necessary skills and knowledge for both educating and guiding
students within the elementary school system.

My acquired skills through my degree allow me the ability to assess situations efficiently
and make decisions accordingly based on the circumstances, such as when a child is falling
behind socially and behavioral, and/or academically. I have very strong interpersonal skills and
an even stronger interpersonal awareness. Such skills allow me very intuitive instincts and the
ability to empathetically provide the caller a sense of comfort. My specialization in the
elementary school age, provides me with a distinct set of skills that gives me the ability to talk to
a wide variety of cognitive levels. I completed courses in Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental
Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My aim right now is to arrange an interview at your convenience, where we will be able to further
discuss the potential employment. If you wish to contact me, I may be reached at (774) 242-5162,
or by e-mail at bfshea1@asu.edu. I would like to thank you in advance for your time,
consideration, and forthcoming response.

Yours sincerely,
