My name is Rose Philop and I am writing to be considered a teaching candidate in your district. I
am in my final semester at Dakota State University, located in Madison South Dakota. I will
receive a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in Teaching English as a New
Language and Educational Technology when I graduate in May 2024.
My skills, teaching ideology, and training have well-prepared me to be an outstanding educator
for your district. I excel in primary elementary education content knowledge and teaching
approaches. I have a wide content knowledge ranging from K-8 mathematics, language arts,
science, and reading. I have learned about best practices and pedagogical methods that are
proven effective for students at any grade level. My strengths are in communication and
flexibility. I am passionate about inspiring curiosity in students and creating lifelong learners.
My time at DSU has prepared me to develop creative and engaging lesson plans and use a
variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students. I am confident in my ability to
create a positive and productive learning environment that is student-centered. I am also
interested in being involved in extracurricular roles in your district to support students’ holistic
development.
