EFFECTIVITY

All B40I5 units with S/N’s ending in 10786 or below.

REASON

Existing hydraulic fan tubes may crack and leak in bend radius.

DESCRIPTION

Replacement tubes will have different bend angles.

COMPLIANCE

Order and install updated tube kit, P/N 211777.

WARRANTY INFORMATION

A warranty claim may be filed for reimbursement of parts, labor and ground freight.
No expedited freight will be paid.

LABOR

1 hour of labor, and up to 2 hours travel time will be allowed.


No diagnostic labor will be paid.

PROCEDURE

Replace hydraulic tubes as outlined below.

TESTING

Operate unit until engine is up to normal operating temperature and fan is operating
correctly. Check for leaks and that tubes are correctly routed.

SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS

P/N 211777 (tube kit)


5/16” and 5/32” Hex Key
7/16” combination wrench
15/16 combination wrench
1-1/16” combination wrench
Rags or paper towels to collect spilled oil.
NOTE: Angle wrenches are not necessary, but will make the job easier and faster.

INSTRUCTIONS

DISASSEMBLY

1. Remove fuel tank, open seatbase and remove 4 screws securing rear cover. Set cover
and fuel tank aside.
2. Clean area around fittings to avoid contamination.
3. Position rags or shop towels to collect spilled oil.
4. Loosen both tube nuts at fan motor fittings, using backup wrench to avoid disturbing
fan motor fittings.
5. Loosen both tube nuts at manifold fittings.
6. Remove upper tube clamp and upper tube.

7. Remove lower tube clamp and tube.
8. Loosen jam nuts on 90 fittings at manifold.

REASSEMBLY

1. Install replacement tubes with tube nuts hand tight. Note that lines cross, with lower
port on fan motor connecting to upper 90 fitting on manifold. This line will be
marked as P/N 188305.
2. Install tube clamps and tighten securely.
3. Tighten tube nuts, using backup wrench on motor fittings.
4. Tighten jam nuts on 90 fittings at manifold.

INSPECTION

1. Clean up any oil spilled during this procedure.


2. Reinstall rear cover, and fuel tank.
3. Operate unit until at operating temperature and check fittings for leaks. Fan MUST
rotate counterclockwise.
4. If no leaks are observed, return unit to service.
