We use the present perfect:
►To talk about something that started in the past and continues up to the present.
How long have you lived here? → ¿Cuánto tiempo has vivido aquí?
She has worked in England for two years. → Ella ha trabajado en Inglaterra desde hace 2 años
I have had my computer since 2002 → He tenido mi ordenador desde el 2002
►We also use the present perfect to talk about experiences in our lives, up to now.
I have been to Japan. → He estado en Japón He hasn´t seen that movie. → Él no ha visto esa
película.
►We often use ever (= alguna vez) and never (= nunca) with the present perfect to talk about
our experiences.
Have you ever met a famous person? → ¿Has conocido alguna vez a algun famoso?
I have never been to Japan. → Nunca he estado en Japón
►We also use the present perfect when the result of a past action is connected to the present.
I have broken my leg → He roto my pierna. We´ve cleaned the house → Hemos limpiado la
casa.
Peter has grown a beard → Peter ha dejado crecer la barba
We have been married for 8 years. → Estamos casados desde hace 8 años
We have been married since 2002. → Estamos casdos desde 2002.
