Description
CIOM is the interface to components concerning comfort and security in the cab. For example, CIOM
handles LIN (Local Interconnect Network) switch modules, wireless equipment and lock control. The
lock control includes wireless central locking, immobilizer and front cover lock management. The
ESCL (Electrical Steering Column Lock) (M50) is connected to the CIOM.
Note
Front cover lock management and ESCL is not applicable for some models.

CIOM:
● is connected to backbone 1 and 2.

● is connected to subnet security.

● is connected to subnet cab.

● is connected to subnet FMS (Fleet Management System).

Description
CIOM is the interface to components concerning comfort and security in the cab. For example, CIOM
handles LIN switch modules, wireless equipment and lock control. The lock control includes wireless
central locking, immobilizer and front cover lock management.
The CIOM is connected to:
● Backbone 1 and backbone 2

● Subnet security

● Subnet cab

● Subnet FMS.

The CIOM has the following functionalities:


● Human-machine interface switches processing

● Wireless central locking system

● Immobilizer system

● ESCL power supply management

● Front lid lock relay management

● Driver and passenger latch relay management.

● Specific sensor handling:


■ Seat belt buckle sensor

■ Swivel seat switch
