Fault Code: 0006

Associated Message: FLAPS FAil

Fault Logic:

The flap control unit (FCU) latch relay is latched open in case of an asymmetry or
uncommanded movement. This fault can be associated with moving the flaps using the
auxiliary hydraulic pump as the pressure source.

Troubleshooting:

1. To reset this condition, first verify that the flaps are rigged correctly and any
other mechanical faults are cleared and then proceed as follows.
1. Pull the FLAP CTRL circuit breaker (CB90) on the copilot's circuit
breaker panel.
2. Set the FLAP CTRL circuit breaker (CB90) on the copilot's circuit
breaker panel.
3. Set the SYS TEST/RESET switch to the FLAPS position.
4. Depress the press-to-test button for three seconds.
5. Verify that an amber FLAP FAIL and an amber FLAP FAULT message
are posted.
6. Pull the FLAP CTRL circuit breaker (CB90) on the copilot's circuit
breaker panel.
7. Set the FLAP CTRL circuit breaker (CB90) on the copilot's circuit
breaker panel.
8. Verify that the latch relay is now closed. The status of the latch relay can
be verified using the flaps portion of the System Analyzer Suite.
9. If the fault cannot be cleared, either the mechanical fault has not been
removed or the FCU is suspect.
