Subject: Request for Intervention Regarding Physical and Mental

Torture by Daughter-in-Law

Respected Sir,
I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of grave concern regarding
the physical and mental torture I have been enduring at the hands of my
daughter-in-law, Puja Rajak, also known as Puja Kumari. My name is
Narayan Chandra Rajak, son of late Chhathu Rajak, aged 63 years, and I
work as a cultivator. My son, Akhil Rajak, married Puja Rajak in the year
2014, and since then, my life has been marred by relentless abuse and
torment.
Over the years, my daughter-in-law has subjected me and my late wife to
extreme cruelty, both physically and mentally. She verbally abuses us
daily, using derogatory language and hurling insults without any
provocation. Not only does she neglect to care for us, but she also coerces
my son into following her lead in mistreating us. This behavior has taken a
toll on our mental well-being and has made our lives unbearable.
Of particular concern is the fact that my late wife was suffering from
cancer during this period. Instead of providing her with the care and
support she needed, my daughter-in-law added to her suffering by
withholding food, using filthy language, and even physically assaulting her.
On one occasion, she threw a bottle filled with water at my wife, despite
her fragile health condition.
Tragically, my wife passed away on 7th March 2021, leaving me bereft and
vulnerable. Since her death, the torture inflicted upon me has only
intensified. My daughter-in-law and her family members threaten me with
violence and falsely accuse me and my son of various crimes, including
threatening to send us to jail on fabricated charges.
I am writing to seek your urgent intervention in this matter. The continuous
abuse and threats have left me in a state of constant fear and distress. I
implore the Human Rights Commission to investigate this situation
thoroughly and take appropriate measures to ensure my safety and well-
being.
I have enclosed relevant documents and evidence to support my claims.
Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
