D/o- Sri. Bhupendra Chaudhary, resident of Kalkut, Near Him Cource
Bhawan, Ward No - 46 of S.M.C, P.O.- Champasari, P.S.- Pradhan Nagar,
Siliguri, Dist.- Darjeeling, 734003 do hereby want to inform you as
follows:-

1. I lodge this complaint to the effect that on 12.12.2019, I got married to

Sri. Mintu Kumar @ Abhishek Jaiswal, S/O – Sri. Yogendra Prasad
Choudhury, Resident of Sudin Chowk, Chatth Pokhar, P.S. Sahayak (K-
hat), Dist – Purnea, Bihar, according to Hindu rites and customs.

2. That the said marriage was arranged marriage and at the time of
marriage my husband and my In-laws namely, (1) Sri. Mintu Kumar @
Abhishek Jaiswal, S/O – Sri. Yogendra Prasad Choudhury, (2) Sri.
Yogendra Prasad Choudhury, S/O - Unknown, (3) Smt. Kanti Devi, W/O
- Sri. Yogendra Prasad Choudhury, (4) Smt. Anita Devi, W/O – Sri.
Pradip Choudhury, (5) Sri. Pradip Choudhury, S/O – Unknown, (6) Smt.
Chetna Jaiswal @ Soni, W/O – Sri. demanded a cash
dowry of Rs 5,00,000/- (Five Lakh) at the time of marriage including
various articles, household items and golden ornaments from my father,
my father agreed to manage and pay them the money and the demanded
articles as well as the golden ornaments for my cordial marriage life.

3. That soon after marriage my husband and my in-laws started torturing

me both mentally and physically and pressurized me to bring more
money of Rs 1,00,000/- (One Lakh) and I inform my father about the
same and for my happy married life my father on 13 th January, 2020,
gave more Rs 1,00,000/- (One Lakh) to my husband and in-laws.

4. That the greed of money of my husband and in-laws started to increase

since then and on several occasions they used to force me to bring more
and more money from my paternal house and when I refused to comply
their demands by stating that my father is a very poor man and as such
he is unable to fulfill their illegal and unnecessary dowry demand, the
abovenamed persons used to torture me both physically and mentally in
order to extract money from my father.

5. That after marriage I came to know that my husband is a habitual

drunker and also used to take different stuffs for his hang-up and used
 to pickup quarrel and abuses me with various intolerable filthy
languages and on objection he used to beat me inhumanly. When I
complained about this to my in-laws they do not pay any heed to it and
always used to humiliate me and taunt me for bringing insufficient
dowry and used to provoke my husband to torture me more mercilessly.

6. That from the very next day of the marriage I was treated like a servant
and was never given the status of Daughter-In-Law in my matrimonial
house but still I bore all the tortures with the hope that everything will
be alright in future but all went in vain.

7. That thereafter their torture started to increase day by day upon me and
my husband and in-laws took all my gold ornaments which were gifted
to me by my family members and relatives in their custody and they also
threatened me to kill me if I inform about this to my parents and also to
remarry my husband to another girl who could give them a huge dowry.

8. That on 18th December, 2021 at about 09.00 A.M my husband and my

in-laws broke all the barriers of cruelty by beating me brutally and
mercilessly with fist and blows as to why after elapse of months I did not
bring any more money from my parents as dowry. My husband under
the purview of alcohol thrashed me towards a brick wall and when I fell
on the ground in pain I begged them to stop their inhuman torture but
my mother-in-law and my other sister-in-laws dragged me by my hair
towards the verandah of the house and meanwhile my father-in-law and
brother in-law manhandled me by holding me by my waist and tried
disrobe me to hurt my dignity and my husband, my mother-in-law and
other sister-in-laws watched it in silenced and encouraged them to lock
me in my bedroom and left me in hunger and pain for an entire day and
night but somehow I managed to call my father over phone and stated
about this heinous activity. Thereafter on the next day my father with
intervention of the local and neighbors managed to rescue me out from
my matrimonial house and brought me to my parental home.

9. That thereafter on 26th December, 2021 when I was in SIEM at Siliguri

for my exam, my husband came there and started to physically assault
me by uttering that why I called my father and came with him to Siliguri
and he also slapped me again and again in the state of intoxication and
told me that he will never took me to my matrimonial home and marry
another women there.

In the above mentioned circumstances I request before your

authority to take proper necessary legal action against the
alleged persons with strict provisions of Penal Law. Your
kind attention will be highly solicited.
