VI. RATIONALE :
The Federated Women Association, Local Council of Women Members will join the
2024 National Women’s Month Celebrationon March 22, 2024 at Calamba Municipal
Gymnasium, Calamba, Misamis Occidental. The main purpose of this activity is
to promote women's sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and
their right to influence social change for themselves and others.

VII. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The LGU- Calamba will join the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration on
March 22, 2024. The 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration aims to capitalize on
the recurring theme “WE for gender equality and inclusive society,” introduced in 2023.
This theme, launched to renew commitment to the advocacy, builds upon the
accomplishments under the 2016-2022 themes, “WE Make CHANGE Work for
Women.” The earlier theme stressed the importance of compassionate and harmonized
networks towards gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE). Part of the
community participation, the Federated Women Association and Local Council of
Women Members is enjoined to exercise during this 2024 National Women’s Month
Celebration, series of activities to be conducted:

VIII. OBJECTIVES:
1. to inform and engage women as pioneers and beneficiaries of government programs and
services – to promote citizen-centric governance and make “change” a conscious effort to know,
understand, and provide what ALL citizens need
2. to create and facilitate platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges, and
commitments in pursuing gender and development (GAD) – to strengthen implementation of
the Magna Carta of Women
3. to inspire and empower women and girls to be agents of change – to contribute in promoting
gender equality and the empowerment of all women.
