Task 3: What is the need for a diagrammatic and graphical presentation of statistical data and what are
the limitations?

Answer: The graphical representation of data helps in following ways:

A complex data set can be simplified with the help of many graphs and charts. Graphs and charts can
reveal trends and patterns easily which may not be visible in tabular form of data. These trends and
patterns can be used by the manager in decision making.

Graphs and charts can be very useful while comparing data set of same type.

Visual representation of data in form of graphs and charts can engage participants during meetings
and enhances communication.

Visual representation of data can be remembered easily as picture created in mind by the diagrams
last much longer than those created by figures presented through the tabular forms.

Limitations of graphical representation:

Graphical presentation can sometimes oversimplify complex data, leading to misunderstandings or
misinterpretations.

Diagrams can be misused to make false projections of statistical facts, especially in advertising. After
seeing the graphs, it cannot always be possible to draw final conclusions.
