8. Current status of Sanctioned Strength, Vacancy and F/S vs G/R ratio

● Current Athletes Subdiscipline wise: 47 Free-Style + 3 Greco-Roman

● Proposed athletes as per selection trial

9. Reasons to increase residential sanctioned strength for G/R style:

● Non availability of sparring partners in each weight category in G/R style

● It is necessary to increase Residential seats rather than DBS as it is difficult to find G/R style
talent pool hyper locally and athletes for G/R style majorly come from different states
● G/R athletes can also do sparring with F/S athletes in need of contingencies, which will enable
good mix and availability of sparring partners in each weight category

10. Conclusion:

This STC aims to have a healthy ratio of athletes in both F/S and G/R styles of wrestling, and since G/R
style is Boys only, it is proposed to provide additional 25 Residential seats to this center.

Additional sanction strength of 25 will be reserved for G/R style and efforts will be made to induct at
least 5 athletes in G/R style for existing DBS seats. Overall this center will move towards a health ratio of
25 F/S and 30 G/R boys athletes as per the proposed phase-wise plan.

After discussing with wrestling coaches, tentative dates to keep selection trials for new sanctioned seats
is being proposed in the first week of May i.e 1st - 7th May 2024.
